Indoor FFOF & Happy Frog Seedling Comparison Grow

I appreciate everyone's input. What is OP? Other person? LOL I wasn't sure what you all meant. I have never had issues using molasses before... I have a journal here in the house I document everything in. For my references so I know exactly what I've done from day one... In my research in my own notes I realized I didn't have this problem with the Snow Ryder... I didn't have this issue when I was growing straight into FFOF... I figured I need to add more nutes. Now I'm thinking the mixture of HF & OF could bring me the best of both worlds. I haven't had a drainage issue and I know I'm not over watering... Matter of fact sometimes I think I wait too long to water...

I came to this conclusion because the AA4 I have now that just showed sex is showing the same symptoms and I haven't even fed her yet... So it's not my nutrient mixture affecting the current plants that I have been feeding... It's my soil mixture... What else could it be considering the AA4 is in HF and hasn't been given anything but water... My water is at the same constant pH so it can't be my water. It has to be the HF... So now I'm thinking it's great for starting but not so great for maturing plants... SO I deciding whether to tier -- start in HF and tier in OF... mix it up, OR put a layer of OF at the bottom of the bag and HF layer on the top -- so by the time they are maturing and need the food they will have found it at the bottom of bag...

It has been an experience doing this comparison grow... I am now realizing that maybe if I combine them I could have a "super soil". I know I'm not the first person to realize this or do this... It has worked great for some of my fellow growers. I thought maybe It was my nutrient mixture but like I said, seeing what my plants are telling me and revisiting my notes from day 1 & page 1 this is where I'm at now. So I'm going to do this with future crops. Combine the two and see if this fixes my problem.

**I do have one questioned answered that would confirm my beliefs... Does lack of N show JUST yellowing of the leaves OR is it yellowing and then go to brown, dry up and then die??? I need to know if it does because to me that would indicate whether it's lack of N or Nute Burn... Thanks again everyone. :smokebuds:

I am using that mix in my current grow. I'm having issues I never had with straight FFOF (post sex). So far, there has been nothing terminal but I'll be keeping "both worlds" separate from now on. :D

NOTE: I do not use FFOF pre-sex.

all strains react in several ways to different compost based fert and theres not one perfect mix (some may take up more mg some burn some love it)
molasses contains minerals once a mineral becomes in excess it will lock others out so little and often is the way forward

the whole leaf would go yellow for a week or 2 then drop off i would say there more going on then lack of N
watch out mixing composts some react to each other but if your mates have done it with no ill effects i can not see you having an issue but id take jo's advice

hey, just a quick thought after not finishing reading all the other posts, but I have been reading about a lot of auto's that are hermie-ing on the lower nodes, like up to around the 4th, and lots of people have just neutered the plant (pinched the balls off), and let it finish with no problem.

A N deficiency usually shows with yellowing and if not addressed can lead to browning but its usuall a whole leaf doing this. With burn its more brown right off and usually shows at the tips first and then works it way up from my experience.

Thanks Afrikaaner! The first hermi we had to pull because it wouldn't stop making pollen sacks. The second one I pinched two off and like you said had no more problems and she harvested a decent yield and smoke...

Thanks everyone else for your help... I have already started 4 more NYLPD in the mixture of soils so we'll see. Thanks Stanko! Thanks again JD, Agito, & Scott817! That helps me out a lot in what they are showing me. Should have the camera back tomorrow so I"ll have pics soon! Stand By! :smokebuds:

With the rate you're going I say you should start a hempy bucket WVR! Just one, medium sized one, make it out of a 2 liter bottle and lightproof it with tape! Let's go.. throw a bean in there man, you're off to a great perpetual go.. what's one more little experiment? ;)

Heheh, just messin' around.. but great progress brother. You're even getting the hang of reading different strains now and trying to figure out what could cause something to happen. Bravo! Oh and without going too much into it because I think I'm a page or two off to contribute but - don't use molasses and honey ES. It's easy to cause a buildup using those two in combination.. especially in rich soils. It's also easy to do the Mg. Overdoing Mg doesn't cause any signs itself but it can potentially lock out many different nutrients depending on the concentration available to the plant. The lock outs of these nutrients can show in other ways for me, it was using Carbo Load & Molasses.. I'm not sure how many nutrients I locked out but my plant leaves started tacoing upwards and then turned brown spotted to a faint gray then they died and it just continued, even after flush - only way to stop it for me was to transplant.. even tried flushing with a Yucca based rinse.

ANOTHER ASSASSIN HARVESTED!!! 127 GRAMS WET!!! WOO HOO!!!

Hey WG! Yeah I've been curious about the Hempy Buckets. KillaKill86 and I have been talking about them -- he plans on using them soon and I'll be curious to see what he does with them! Maybe in the near future when I get more money I may think about it :D So do you mean I should cut out Molasses completely if I'm using the Honey ES once a week? That tacoing effect I did get on them a few weeks back. I remember clearly wondering if I had heat issues which I didn't so that's probably why I had those effects. I was going hardcore with nutes there for a while and between that and the re used soil that wasn't reconditioned was probably the cause. I'm going to closely monitor them especially after tonight's feeding. For the record I never use the Honey ES and Molasses together... I use the Honey ES once a week and had rotated the molasses into it's place when not using it in the mix.

As you can see from the title of the post we harvested the rest of the AA2 and total WET weight comes in at exactly 127 Grams!!! 4.5 oz's WET! I know she'll lose more than half that weight but still I'm Very VERY happy about that!! She's a killer man... One joint between 3 of us and we were all toasted!! Trichs were mostly milky with 2% Amber... all the fan leaves were done and most the sugar leaves from the top almost halfway down were yellowed.

The Main Cola weighs 44 grams wet.

Other 4 main colas were between 10g and 14g wet.

Official dry weight will be here in about 4-5 days. I'll have the camera tomorrow for sure so I'll get the pics in! I LOVE THIS ASSASSIN!!!

Oh the Amber in her trichs was BLOOD Red. First time I've ever seen this on my plants or in any pictures. Very cool!!

4 New additions to the "Children of the Closet" last night!! 4 more NYLPD's were ready for the dirt so into the dirt they went!!

Ive got a hempy outside to try out and so far Im liking it - you know you'll be trying it soon!!;)
Getting ready for my next indoor here once the last girl is out and hopefully setting up a capilary watering system so if goes OK will be something else for you to experiment with.
