Indoor FFOF & Happy Frog Seedling Comparison Grow

WVR, as you know, I have been experimenting with my seed mix too. While I've seen the FFOF be too hot for seedlings, I have also seen seedlings respond quite positively to early nutes in ferted mixes, without ill effect. I know Muddy adds a small amount of organic N to the Pro-mix he uses for a base. If I understand FD correctly, he also starts his seedlings in a ferted mix. So, there seems to be a valid argument against the conventional wisdom of "no nutes for seedlings".

This, I am positive about... with autos, a bad start never equals a good finish. The better the start, the better potential for a great finish. Growth lost, is never recovered. So, this seedling mix thing is pretty important. :peace:

Hey JD! Yes I agree. I was just wondering if I should feed my seedlings molasses when I water along with the weekly dose of Myco they get. I would definitely have to say the seedlings started in FFOF compared to the Scott's Earthgro (which had nothing in it at all but potash) are bigger, healthier, and seem to show sex earlier. Which makes me believe also that the OF isn't as bad as the rep it gets for burning seedlings. Also, I must note the ones started in OF had plenty to eat until they showed sex. The others in the Earthgro became VERY hungry after the first two weeks. They started showing signs of nitrogen def and then as soon as I transplanted them into OF they took off.

Everything you said is correct! I find that to be true in my limited experience with autos. With the HBD I'm going to tier them into half gallon grow bags. Would like to see the results from Non Stress Transplanting in all OF. I also believe the Myco has been making a difference. Since I applied it to this batch it seems they show sex quicker. Both the Assassin and NYLPD females showed sex almost two weeks earlier than the Snow Ryder did. They didn't get the Myco as seedlings. Only after they showed pistils.

Thank you as well AutoWidow for your input. The more proof the better! :smoke:

Hey Buds. Been a hectic few days after the earthquake and now this Monster Hurricane coming... I have a lot of family and both parents living in South NY only 30 miles from mid town Manhattan so I'm a little anxious about flood & tree damage where they are...

Anyway quick update. Pictures to come later tonight...

The SR1 & SR2 are doing great. They really love eating every two days or so. They lighten up really quick and really enjoy full dose nutes. Absolutely no problems there and I haven't seen any more hermi parts on SR2.

The Assassins are great as well. AA1 has grown nearly 3.25" in TWO DAYS. That is a first for me. That kinda of growth is new to me. Must be the full dose nutes! AA2 & AA3 have also had a burst of growth. Doubling almost tripling in size in two days. Definitely love the Myco. No signs of sex on 2 & 3 yet.

The NYLPD's are like this. NYLPD1 is still doing VERY well. Pulled two males last night that were also between 2 & 3 weeks old that showed. I didn't feel great about killing them, they were beautiful green, lush and showed no signs at all of any problems. But, I can't have a pollinated crop at the moment... So, I didn't feel good doing it but I had to. So I have 1 NYLPD left that hopefully will be female and I'll end up with 2 NYLPD females.

I have 3 HBD that are ready to go in the dirt. I'll do that in a few here. They will get the tier method. Using 32 oz cups instead of 16 oz because I have so many of them. I'll get some pics updated later.

Hope you all are doing well and taking care of yourselves. Hang tight buds. Gonna be a rough weekend!

I was wondering how that earth quake effected you guys down there. Was watching a show on it.

Stay safe. The next blow is on it's way..

I wouldn't do it... that's just me. It could be beneficial if it helps the myco's, which it might do. But, my thing is get the process in place and keep it simple after that. When I add the root drench, I can just add it to the water without having to buffer the pH again. It's almost pH neutral. Molasses, on the other hand, can knock your pH number through the floor, so it has to be buffered, especially if seedlings are involved. Too much trouble and chance of a bad result, for me.

Thanks Bailer. Seems we may just be out of it's reach here but, I hope everyone else stays safe!

Hey JD! I agree. After careful consideration and more reading I decided against it. I forgot to mention that... Thanks for the information man! I was over analyzing again lol. What I've been doing the past week has really been improving my results thus far. They have responded extremely well to feeding every watering and at full dose from the beginning of flowering. I can't wait to see what these Himalayan Blue Diesel do! I planted 3 nicely germinated seeds into Tiered 32 oz Styro cups. I did what TBM does I pre-cut the bottoms and put another cup over it so it's virtually Non-Stress Transplanting. Plus I have more Assassin beans! I'm pretty happy over here! I also must note that so far out of the Assassin and NYLPD the stinky ones ended up being female and the leafy green non stinky smelling ones turned male... Is this normal or am I on to something? Meaning you can smell a female coming after a few nodes form? Check out the girls...

Here's a couple pics to show you the tiered method I did...

Hey Killa! Thanks for letting me know. It's good to know that's just coincidence and not something to go by... Sending you girl karma as well!
