FD's Guide to Growing Hefty Autos in Small Places.

Ok guys i have been dragging my knuckles on this for too long. This thread will be dedicated to my actual grow technique. I will have everything in here from the way i germ seeds to the way i harvest and everything in between.

ill cover my soil mixes, teas, water adjustments, feeding schedules as well as the recipes for the soil and teas that i use. My goal is to teach how to grow the bud lumps you see in the small pots i use. I feel if you use this you may have the same success that i do when it comes to autos in small places.

Bare with me as i will update this on the regular, but will be locking it to get it all organized.

a question from a former grower.years have passed since ive grown weed.always have been a small time farmer.always been a smoker --way back since viet nam.anyway was given a few seed-autos,now goin into 3rd week buddin.i have bloombuster---have give small doses of it to females very diluted.my question is this--- the label says 1 tablespoon per gallon of water,,should i do that week 3 or stick with the diluted version.after reading your post i am now bubbling my water for tuesday watering.---also how often should i be using the bloombuster 11-35-15 is numbers. thanks these are outside in a 5 gallon bucket

i have also another question its to do with my nutes i have the organic two part by humbolt grow and bloom and also have deuce deuce and honey es, i got because i know person who own hydro store and i got great discounts, any ways ive been watering with the nutes on my sour 60 every other watering all together the grow bloom and honey es, because its in flower should i continue every other watering or could i do it every watering and then every once in awhile flush it? or would that cause overdoses and should i be combingin nutes and doing all at once or should i figure a schedule to space thenutes out confused??

greetings LittleT, i personally have never worked with that line of nutes, but i will tell you one rule of thumb i use when trying something new. Less is more with this kinda stuff. Remember that most ferts in a bottle are chemical based and can and will burn your plants. Seems to me that the last rating that you gave me is HIGH, really high in P. I use the FF stuff when i want to get max yield and i think that its p rating is 8 or 12 and i never use full dose on my girls until the last week before flush.

If i were you i would dilute the stuff in a gallon of water and then test the pH, bloom ferts will drop the pH like a rock. I have found that if i put a pinch or two of baking soda in the water before i add the ferts it keeps from dropping to fast and too low. I would use them every other water to keep the salt levels from building up in the medium. You will get a good deal of salt the higher the rating numbers on the ferts, or at least that is what i have seen.

well cough i have never used any additives in any of my feedings other than the FF trio line and some epsom salts and seaweed kelp. I have never used a product like duce duce to enhance my grow, i have always relied on organic compounds in the soil to supply that to the plant. BUt as far as feeding goes every water can be a feed water if you want just remember to cut back the amount of ferts in the actual water for each day. If you fed nuted water for a week solid i would use clean water the next two waterings after that . Just to clear the salts and the buildup in there. Just to give you an idea here, i grow organic about 90% of the time and when i use ferts i always find salt build up in the bottom even after a 3 or 4 week flush out....

Hey FD I have a question about bubbling your water, and PH. I believe that this AKR (the one not showing crystals at day 41) has experienced some type of lockout. Seeing some yellow leafs pop up in the top center. The PH of my runoff is in the high 5's (5.7) But the PH of the feed & water ive been giving them is 6.3-6.5. I know you mentioned having a similar experience....should I be ph'ing water at a higher number in anticipation of the drop in PH?

what it looks like to me is lock out with a slight toxicity. From what i can see in the pic it would be "praying" for magnesium. With that pH of the run off being so low i can bet that Mg is locked completely out form the plant. I would raise the water pH a tid bit to see if you get an improvement on her. You will need to really really flush this plant with a higher pH'd water to correct this. either that or flush it with correct water and get some dolomite lime on top to balance things out a bit. I would flush it out and then after the flush and you can see a difference in her appearance add back a small amount of bloom food to get her back on track.

so on ur grows that ur producing 1.5 oz's in 1 gal pots u have no ferts/ just the soil that u make and seaweed kelp and epsom salts which i have some but dont know how either of those would be beneficial let me in on this?? and is the tea ur talking about made with the seaweed and epsom salt just wondering trying to get around about of your process cuz i will have 1000 watt soon and be using netted 3 gal pots so hoping for 2ozs just a guestimate

also this is my sour60 also have a pandora, russian rocket fuel, antoher sour 60 starting thats in order left to right in picture, but on my older sour 60 its on day 40 right now it seems very immature it could be from heat stress it was in a room at like 90 degree for over a week and now there around 80 changed location also it looks like some male preflowers are forming at the bottom internodes maybe a result of the heat stress? anything i can do to help with this?

As far as the additives go the epsom salt is a source of Magnesium. if you go get some you will see on the packaging that it tell you to add it to your weekly water regimen for house hold plants. Same concept here, if its in the soil the plant will use it over time.

the kelp is a great source of amino acids. In the veg/seedling the plants use it the most. When i use just the kelp i can see over night changes in growth. Usually a cap full to a gallon.

the tea that i make uses pretty much all the same that is in the soil so yes the salt and kelp are in there and left to brew for 24-48 hours.

as far as the heat stress goes you will need to get them in a cooler environment, there is no other real fix for this other than dropping your temps down low. Once they have been stressed by this they take a few days to recover from it. Onve they do it will progress like normal, may take a little longer to finish but it will be ok.
