Fast Buds Fast Buds LSD-25 first grow

I appreciate the very detailed explanation on making my own LED panels, but I can safely say I probably will never make my own haha
Haha no problems man. It is defiantly not for everyone. I researched till my eyes dried, and my back went crooked. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I had to research more. The 150w will give you a decent experience, and get your feet wet with HID lighting. The smaller tent in my above picture has a 150w in it. One thing is they do get hot.

Man look at the colors in that bud. She sure is pretty. Just imagine how shes gonna be here when you harvest. Oh, speaking of harvesting. Did you know you can use you leaves and trimmings for making extracts? The whole trash to stash thing. It would take a bit of research, and being aware of the safety dangers, but it is rather easy to do. You could look in to QWISO. Quick Wash ISO is made using 91-99% isopropyl alcohol. It is has it's dangers, and you need to be cautious, but ISO is not as volatile as butane (sill extremely flammable).

Man I really want to smoke some of that LSD! Take care man.:smoking:

Yea it's hard to beat free. I think in this grow I didn't give the girls enough light in the veg stage so next go I'm going to try to bulk them up as much as possible in those first 3 weeks. Some of these fast buds grows on here are incredible. I just purchased some fish fertilizer and alpha thrive. @elsamurai I saw you had those in your last grow and they looked like appealing additives. I am also using Happy Frog this next go because it was on sale. It'll be nice to be able to compare to the roots soil.

I know the photo shoot is tomorrow but one of the gals wanted her picture taken...

@elsamurai thanks for that link, sounds like I'll be letting these girls cook for a while longer!

Sorry for the terrible picture quality, I'm new at this haha!

Hoping to get an ounce per plant for my first run, think that's feasible? The headless girl I'd like at least a half ounce, but hopefully closer to 20 grams. At this point I'm just stoked that they are all alive and all purple (to varying degrees).

Looking great bud! I notice the fly traps, and feel your pain. Do you have access to cypress trees, or cypress oil by chance? Fungus gnats don't like it, among many other things. Lavender, and citrus are other good options. I have a micro cab in my garage, and it gets them really easily. I purchased GoGnats by earth juice (i use their ferts), and it worked, but I looked at the ingredients, and it is 33% cypress oil, 2% wetting agent (makes the oil bind to the water), and 65% water. I plan on using it till it's gone, but will just be making my own next time.

If you get a moment check out this thread. I put it together for ground covers in general (which I see you don't use) but there are many benefits, like suppressing critter invasions. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/groundcovers-and-the-benefits-they-can-provide.50080/ I encourage you to try them next grow, as they can help in many ways. Most are also free, or very cheap. Keep up the great work bud, your on the home stretch now! Till later, take care.

@Fuggzy yea fungus gnats have been an issue. I put down some diatomaceous earth and these traps and they were gone in about 3 days. I hadn't seen them for the last 5 weeks and then yesterday I saw a couple so I put the traps back and applied more DE. Today I moved the soil around a bit and didn't see any signs of them. I am wondering if its just something my area is going to be prone to getting or if it has to do with the roots organic soil. I'm using happy frog for my next run so I am going to clean the room real good and then if it happens again I'll just be more cautious of addressing the problem quickly. I do have access to cypress trees and pine trees as well so I may experiment with these two for ground covers. I just read part A of your link, but I am about to go to work and have some big tests tomorrow so I will have to read B and C later. Great info! I hope one day I am half as knowledgable as you about organic gardening. I see some people whose chem ferts getting amazing results but I am more interested in organic growing. I like the idea of using plant leaves as ground cover, I have just been composting mine for my outdoor garden, but I might as well just give them back to the girls.

I think I'm going to give the ladies one last feeding tomorrow and then let them go for 2 more weeks with just water. I notice a little nute burn (or what I think is nute burn) on some of the leaves, so I am giving a 1/6 feeding and hopefully it just gives a little extra kick as they finish. The next two weeks are going to go by so slow! Thanks for all your help @Fuggzy I greatly appreciate it.

Also I looked into extracts, you certainly got my attention. I am going to see what I can do with my sugar leaves :muahaha:

@Fuggzy and/or @elsamurai I just go the HPS from my buddy for freeeeeee! I ran it for an hour and boy does that thing get hot. Right now I have a 4 inch 100 cfm exhaust fan in my room which is about 70 cfm. I ran the hps in my room for 1 hour about 12 inches from plants with existing cfls and temps were around 80 by soil and 90 by plant tops. I am wondering if a 6 inch 214 cfm exhaust would be enough to control the heat of the HPS or if I need a 400 cfm exhaust? The reason I ask is because I have a 214 cfm available to me from the same guy for free. At the same time a 400 cfm is around $80 so it's not too bad considering I'm getting the light for free. I was thinking could I get away with getting the light and the 214 cfm exhaust for free and maybe just buying a $20 fan and blow it directly on the lights? or should I just get the bigger exhaust and shell out the $80? All replies are greatly appreciated.

The best way to give you an advice would be if you can post a couple pictures of your set up. I'd guess by the cfm of your current fan, it would be a booster fan, and look something like this.

The 214cfm is a centrifugal fan and looks something like this.

The ideal ventilation system has an active exhaust, and a passive intake. This creates a negative pressure in the growing area. You want the fan to be able to cycle the cubic space of your area 3 times per minute. For example. My larger tent is a 4x2x5 giving me 8 sq feet, and 40 cubic feet. So my fan would need to run at 120cfm. (if you are running a carbon filter, you would want your fan/filter cfm rating to be similar. pick the fan that fits the build, and then match a filter to it) By cycling the air 3x/min it gives you plenty of fresh O2 for the ladies, and gets the heat out rather fast. Now when setting up your vent system, you want your intake to be 2-3 times the exhaust. Some people run it a 1:1 and report no problems, but that is not the ideal set up.

So a few thing that would need to be considered are:
What is your cubic space you are working with? (LxWxH)
Where is your exhausting hole located? (floor, ceiling, mid wall)
Where is your intake located? (same as ^^)
What are the sizes of both of those holes?
Are you using a carbon filter?

In short (haha having the gift of Gab, I never really did do short) I will tell you to go with the 6" 214cfm fan. 400cfm is going to be over kill I can run 133 cubic foot room. You should also get a fan speed controller. They are not a must have, but nice to have. The larger fans can get kinda loud, and bother sum. Now if you did have a controller, the 400cfm would do fine, just run it under powered. They look like this.

My 150w is difficult to keep the heat down on too to be honest. I need to go make some food for the famn damily, but if this doesn't answer your question just let me know. I'll find a better way to help. Till later, take care.:smoking:

It's 70 cubic feet, 2.5x3.5x8 My exhaust goes through the ceiling into the attic and my intake is a grated square in the door to the closet about 20x30 inches. Is that too big of an intake? I think I'm just going to get that fan from my buddy and see how it works out. It'll move twice as much air as I am moving now and the stats fit your suggestion 70 cf room with a 218* cfm fan, almost exactly 3 times a minute. I have the HPS set up now for my last two weeks, I don't know if it'll help at this point. I put the small fan I was using in my drying box facing the HPS and I turned the tower fan on high which cooled things down and also decreased the humidity. It is about 86 at the top of the plants and 77 around the soil. I also gave the gals their last feeding tonight. I had just gotten in my fish fert and alpha thrive so I added in 1/8 doses of both and gave a 1/6th strength dose of bloom, an 1/8th calmag. I just thought a little extra food may help them finish strong. Also, the fish fert isn't alaskan fish which is 5-1-1, its some other type I can't think of the name because I'm toking on my premature LSD-25, which is killer. The ratio of the fish fert I got is 2-3-1 i believe. I wanted something that I could use through flower.

HPS in the middle now and cfls on all 4 sides. I think about 526 watts now! Lots of duct tape lolol I've had enough malfunctions. I'll be building a wooden or pvc light fixture frame thingy for the next grow

It's hard not to just stare at drool at these girls, can't believe I grew something so beautiful. The smell is absolutely divine.
Amyway @Fuggzy this is what you have to look forward to
