STRAIN: Fantasmo Express
SOIL: Peat moss + 10% vermiculite + old roots
CONTAINER: 15 liter Superoots Air Pot
LIGHTS: cheap CFL, 24 hours
VEG NUTES Dyna-gro Foliage Pro, $48 per gallon on Amazon, NPK is 9 -3 - 6
BlOOM NUTES: Texas Tomato Food, $28 per gallon on Amazon. NPK is 3.8 - 3.1 - 7.0 based on "percentage of weight"
Supplement: Silicon

I am thinking about FIM (Fuck I missed) and pruning these girls down to just 4 colas each. The plants will be extra stressed so I am giving them better food. Veg nutes, bloom nutes and silicon, what more could the girls ask for?

Boring stuff:
It think is good to be explicitly clear: I am not selling Dyna-gro nutes or Texas Tomato Food, I have never met or communicated with the owners. I shouldn't need to say that, but apparently there is some "conflict of interest" on AFN.

I buy my nutes on Amazon and pay the full price. I've been using Texas Tomato Food in my garden for about 2 years and it seems to trigger more flowers on tomato plants even in harsh conditions. I thought it would be fun to try on Cannabis. I read about it on a tomato growing forum where some professional growers praised it. Maybe it doesn't to have enough Cal/Mag to fully support plants under the stress of intense artificial lights, but I can tolerate a little leaf deficiency.

Day 1 spread 'em wide.

You can see the old Hubbabubbasmelloscope (HBSS) stem in the middle.
3 days before it was chopped I watered until 20% runoff, and measured the runoff at 6.5 pH and 500 PPM (1 EC), good for seedlings.

I used a chopstick to poke holes 1/2 inch into the soil so their depth is the same. Drop in the beans add water and wait...they popped up after 3 days. They were germinating in the soil under HBSS during the last 3 days of harvest.

My grow room is 40% humidity. I am too lazy to spray water to keep the soil moist. I use a clear plastic cup to keep the soil moist around the seed so they don't get helmet heads, seems to help.

I don't like it when the plant pops up with leaves stuck inside the seed like this:

Good luck on the grow man:greenthumb:. Did you undo the sides of that pot to check and see how packed the soil is from the last plant? I've used roots in the past to hold moisture but I chop em up first. If you did a full grow in that pot it's sure to be packed and bound.

I didn't do anything except check the runoff water for pH & nutes.
The roots from the last plant (HBSS) should be matted, thick and dense, it might be a problem.
But planting 2 seeds around the old trunk is doing pretty good with 2 Tyrones so why not try it again:

2 plants in one container lowers MY stress about pruning aggressively. If one of them dies or hermies... I have a back up plant.

Often, we make seeds, and somewhere in the process ripe seeds can fall down into the soil and sprout.
We had some discarded pots at the side of the greenhouse after cropping the plants and some nice little seedlings emerged. I haven't had the time to tend to them in any way and they look healthy, aside from some insect damage I noticed yesterday. Just goes to show where there's a will there's a way :)

It is the circle of life, with a little help it keeps on spinning

Day 7 Success! It is a big relief when seedlings survive the first week. Feels like more cushion against mistakes and a nice confidence booster.

The old stump from HBSS (hubbabubbasmelloscope) finally dried up, it was leaking for 4 days:

I was looking at 3 bottles of nutes (veg nutes, bloom nutes, and silicon)
Almost got an ulcer just looking at them, so I am dropping one bottle.

Gonna stick with just Texas Tomato food and Silicon for the whole grow. A boring diet of just Tomato bloom nutes worked for Sour Crack, and HBSS, and is working very well for Tyrone Special right now.
It also works for my peace of mind!

Maybe I should mention that I never water with plain water. I give them the same weak concentration of nutes in water, every time they are thirsty, from seedling to chop. If they get the munchies I want them to always have lots of snacks.
I don't want them driving to the store for cookies.

Yes, I've heard of cations and anions and CEC (Cation-Exchange Capacity); the soils capacity to store nutes.
Bah, too much effort to think about.

I am going with stoopid simple: as they get bigger and drink more they automatically get more nutes. Maybe it is too simple, but seems to be working so far.

I do occasionally overwater (with the same weak concentration of nutes) until 10% dribbles out the bottom of the container. I don't like the soggy soil because the fine hair roots can die off within hours of being too wet. But the soil seems to need lightly "rinsed" about once every 4 weeks, so once at the end of Vegging and once at the end of flowering if the soil will be reused.

Maybe every 2 weeks would be better, nah.. too hard to remember.
