Whats up guys, i recently bought a fan along with a carbon filter and when it arrived i noticed i had ordered the wrong one, i meant to order the 6" but i ended up ordering the 4" 190cfm by mistake. My tent is 32x32x63, will this be ok for this size tent or should i return it and get a 6" with the appropriate filter?

If you mean you bought a 4" fan and 4" filter, then you will be fine for a tent a little over 2.5 x 2.5. If the filter is 6", then you will want to send one of them back, so they connect properly. For your small tent you will be fine with the 4 incher. I once did a run with a 4" fan/filter in a 4x4 tent and it barely made it. Just not enough wiggle room with smaller fan/filter.

4" fan and filter is fine for that sized tent but not if your fan is bigger than your filter.(the filter can be bigger than your fan) You need to slow the fan down below the max CFM rating of the filter to insure it properly wipes the smell if you oversized your fan. (Fan speed controller)

I bought the fan as a "kit" with a 4" carbon filter and a fan speed controller. Since i thought i ordered the 6" version of the fan i had already bought the ducting as well, after noticing that the fan was a 4" i picked up some ducting reducers and attached one the the filter/fan to run 6" ducting. The reason i did this was because the inlet and outlet on my reflector are 6".

i am in a constant struggle with temps as it stays between 85-90 degrees, should i run 4" ducting and run the reducers in the reflector instead? I have yet to figure out where to vent, the grow tent is in a spare closet and im thinking it might help to vent to the building "attic" (which is not really an attic, appts here don't have attics lol) since it's a two unit building with me being on the second floor.

i would like to hear some feedback on this, i'm struggling with those temps.

I vent in the attic, but it still dumps heat for the central AC to cool. Reducers will be fine, you're biggest limit is probably gonna be intake temps if you're in a tent and inside a closet. Definitely want to atleast vent out of the closet.

I am going to work on venting up the attic this week, if i vent back to the room i cant get the temps down from 88

I have a 80x80x160cm tent with a very cheap 4" carbon filter. It maintains heat bellow 82 and does a good job at filtering smell, although I only have two northern lights plants. Initially, I did have it extracting back into the room/cupboard, but when I managed to connect it to the chimney, it certainly reduced the temp and humidity slightly. I now manage to keep it on the 79/80F

Check the cfm on each 4 and 6" sets and that should help. For the size restrictions I purchased one of each in a fairly large room and noticed the rating on each weren't to far off.

One of those thermostate Temp controllers helps. That way it's not on constant too. It will crank up the power when it senses a large temp differential. I liked this item so much I bought a spare

Rating for the 4" is 192 cfm. For some reason I can't get the temps to come down from 85 degrees. I will be installing a 6" with a rating of 400cfm and hopefully that'll take care of the problem.

It all depends on how your using it and the ambient temps. If your doing air in air out and it's 80 degrees outside your room or tent it will struggle. But if it's 50 degrees outside your room or tent a 5$ desk fan might be enough. If it's just circulating air inside the room there isn't a fan sold that will lower temps.
