New Grower Fan filter question

Alright, i installed a 6" fan 400 cfm with the respective filter and venting to the attic, sucking fresh air through the flaps and ny temps are still around 90 degrees.

Is it the tent being in a closet and not getting enough air my problem?

I'm venting into attic as well but can not understand how it dumping so much heat into my closet and home, I feel like I need to plug up some wholes in the cieling , its almost hotter the higher i run the fan. How you figured a better solution or how to fix this? I hooked ducting to a ceiling vent and yes on outtake, still no help. This has Been my biggest stress especially going in to 100 plus degree summer

I wouldn't say it's a solution but since i have a dimmable ballast i went ahead and dimmed it down to 250w. IMO the problem i am having is not enough fresh air getting to the closet. it is running very consistent at 83 degrees (which i know it's a little high), i would love to use the full 400w but for now this will do.

Funny that you say that if run the fan at a higher speed the temps go up lol, it's been happening to me as well.

Ok wow check this out, we have an identical situations, b/c of space I have my 450cfm fan at the top of my closet pulling air thru both my cool tube and carb filter. Not the most ideal but that's why I gotba bigger fan haha, I'll send a picture. Iv been running with the fan off this week and angled a normal fan at my light and left the closet door open and it's been a 78-84 which befor with inline on it was anywhere from 82-95. Have a small portable ac unit I was able to come up on so hopefully that will help because my central ac can't keep it cold. I will need that when we start flowering because I'll have to run my fan and scrubber. Keep me updated and I will do the same. I'm running a 400w dimmed down to. I'm at 75% BC it's just a few degrees hot on 100 but, my girls are ready for more light haha

I have plenty of fresh air IMO.... I think. It's a wierd set up, I believe my fan is somehow blowing all hot humid air from attic into my closet, I can see my attic from certain closets around my grow. So there is nothing stopping it from getting down into my room, but I have my ducting like I said hooked up to a vent out the roof, so regardless if the fan is on I would think there would be no issue b/c all air is exhausted out of the building. It's freaking mind boggling..

Hey, just my opinion here. You've got too many bends in in your ducting. Coupled with using hot room air to cool your light your going to be fighting an uphill battle. What do you have for a fan pulling through the filter?

Yeah no I agree, not my ideal set up for cooling and scribing but with space and not wanting to cut more holes, this is what I decided on. But im running a 450 CFM inline, which is more then enough. Usually run it at like 30% but like I agree with you and all the bends, I have 3 90 degree elbows and everything else is for the most part a straight shot, from fan to filter is about 6ft of travel thru 6in ducting. The bends in my opinion don't effect my airflow with that length and size of fan. But the problem is not the fan cooling the light, it's when the fan is on, im getting hot attic air being blown into my home and more so into this area. The higher I turn the fan the worse it gets. On cooler days or at night when attic cools slightly I can run fan and have better temps depending on the outside temp......that is the problem

Is the connection between the fan and the ducting sealed ? it doesnt look like it is from that picture. If its not sealed that cal spike your temps as your pulling hot air back into the room.

Every 90° bend restricts your airflow. I'll look it up tomorrow but it's like 20% per bend if you have 3 bends that's a 60% reduction that's 240cfm if your you usually run 30% that's 80cfm
