New Grower Fan filter question

Don't forget when dealing with ventilation to keep in mind the laws of conservation of mass. Namely, for every cubic foot of air that you pump out of the tent/room/house, a corresponding cubic foot of air has to be sucked back in from somewhere. Similarly, every cubic foot blown into an attic has to have a matching cubic foot blow out somewhere. Think about where the drafts, doors, windows, etc...are and where the replacement air is going to come from and it could help explain the temps. I frequently find myself wishing I had vented my closet out into the hall instead of back into the room just so that it would have further to cycle the air in the system before it wound it's way back to the closet.

Yeah I have read have the same thing thing, and those numbers seem about right. I can run my fan on 30-50% and touch the glass had my light off today and kept my plants just in a cool but out of good light unfortunately and my issue is the holes in my ceiling I'll need to go in the attic to fix it. Today was just as hot as with everything on ..so I'm gonna fix that and report back

Ok here's my question then for you? Because the heat on my room, I had been leaving my closet open which is in my bathroom and leaving my bathroom door open which leads into my room, everyone in house is open half way. So I would think but am not for sire but how come that would not be enough cool or fresh air...? Iv tried all ways. Small intakes, leaving 1 door open. All the combinations. Thats why I'm thinking its my attic holes, but I really do not know...

One thing I'm curious about is the spaces round where the vent goes out the top of the closet. It looks pretty well sealed where it goes through the attic, but where it leaves the grow box it looks like there is open space. If that's wide open, and there's a decent seal around most of the rest of the box, then the replacement air would come largely from there into the box, following the path or least resistance. What's the temp in the space between the box and the attic?

I dunno...I may need to re-read in the morning when I've smoked less and can wrap my brain around stuff better. :baked:

That's the pic I was thinking off. The space in the top where it goes out caught my eye.

Hard to tell but it has a wall mount upside down screwed and taped from top. Foam is just a vibration silencer

Yea..if the air is not overly hot outside the closet, then it should be working. Unless like it sounds like there may be speculation about that the air being moved is not the amount thought that's being moved (if I'm reading right). If the smell is not too bad right now, or not a large concern (ie...in a legal state/area), then could also try without the carbon filter for a bit. I noticed a HUGE difference when I took mine off recently. I hadn't noticed how much leftover construction dust I had in the closet, and the filter was rather clogged up after running for several months. Air didn't seem to be moving out my vent they way I remembered, so pulled the filter and got a big jump in air flow. Fortunately, I'm in one of the aforementioned legal areas, so just running without for now.
