Excellent project, it will be fun doing it and interesting to follow your progress. When you make learning fun you get more out of it.
Nice baffle work, good to see it coming on.
Gonna follow this and see how she does.
Earth worms wont eat your roots.
They will pass soil though themselves and poop it out as "worm castings" which helps nutrient be more freely available.
Plus the mucus that they produce in their gut and which is excreted in their castings work as a moisture retainer , just like in water retaining gels but is totally organic and natural. Not forgetting to mention the wonderful benneficial soil bacteria from theirr guts, worms are power houses of awesomeness for the soil.
Having said all that it is probably a good ideal to rehouse the worm out doors as you root system will fill the pot and life for poor old wormy will get mighty cramped and temps won't be right for him either.
Worm farms are fantastic and will provide you with worm castings (grade A organics) and "Black gold" the juice at the bottom of you worm farm which you can drain off (it needs dilution as it is super concentrated goodness).
It is also a great way to recycle all you veg trimmings and cannabis leaves after you chopped them down.
Search online for Vermiculture which is the art of keeping worms in worm farms.
Have a good grow
