New Grower Extremely low-budget grow | 40W | Delahaze |

Update time!

There's been a lot of notable changes to the appearance of the Delahaze recently. The first thing I noticed when I opened the cabinet today was how bushy she'd gotten. She hasn't quite reached the scrog net in any way yet but she's getting there.

I'm not sure if I managed to FIM or even top the plant, which is kind of embarrassing. The original cola seems to have grown an inch or so, but the supposed new colas still bear a closer resemblance to ordinary branches about to take off.
I shall update with more accurate pics tomorrow when the lights are on again.

The soil had dried out pretty much completely so I watered her. I figured she must be hungry so I gave her a third feeding in a row. This time I gave her so much nutrients that I'm constantly checking for signs of nutrient burn or pH problems.

Also, the humidity meter finally arrived. The 35% seen in the photo was measured right after I had had the window open for some time. The humidity is in reality closer to 50% and the temperature sits somewhere at ~25 degrees celsius.

Looking pretty good, kinda surprised how bright those lil bulbs are. I was thinking about getting a few of the bigger ones to help augment some lighting from the side or underneath. But was scared they'd just be a total ripoff haha. You're making it work though! I'm gonna have to think about it more now :)

Oh and FIM's aren't always successful but you can try again in a bit when it's recovered and you're sure. I grew a handful of crap seed photos when I first started just to practice abusing haha, the fim's took on about 60% :/

Yeah, the Chinese LEDs have definitely come a long way.

I think I'm not going to bother with a new attempt at FIM since the plant is already in flower (or at least 'on a timer' because of the 12/12) and it might slow down the growth. Scrogging will probably be enough.

I don't remember how old she is but I know even with 12/12 from seed they don't start flowering until at least like 3 weeks in regardless.

She'll be about 6 weeks from sprout in a couple of days. Thanks for bringing it up, BTW. I'm gonna start giving titles to the updates with the age on it.

Some of those e27 socket leds even come in like a 54 watt variant! That would be pretty decent for a bunch of different uses!

I dunno how worth it those would be but I think if wiener had some spare cash he should definitely look into one of these. http://www.topledgrowlight.com/led-grow-light-100x3w.html

I have the first one and it's awesome. They just dropped the price on them sometime recently. I spent closer to like 170 for the same light. Can't beat those lights for 100$

I'm sure they're awesome lights, but even the 48x3W would not fit in the cabinet properly. Then there's the absurdly high freight to Europe which adds about $80 to the price. I think my next 'big' investment will be an in-line fan and a carbon filter, but hopefully not yet. I'll keep TopLEDs in mind for the future, though!
:tiphat:

Speaking of odor control, the Delahaze smells pretty sweet, not very offensive. It is a pretty strong aroma, though so it can be noticed. The seriously pungent flowering smell hasn't kicked in yet, I think.

However, I keep the door that leads out of the room shut and because the windows are renewed, they don't allow for draft. This causes the odor to be pretty much 100% trapped in the room where the cabinet is in.

One other interesting thing is that, when the window is kept open for a while, the cold outside temperature sucks out the stinky warm air pretty much completely. This also makes for stealthy smoking in the room.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Wow. Nothing gets stuff to happen like a blast of nutrients!

I took a look inside the cabin this morning and BOOM! Distinctive pre-flowers everywhere!

And here's the main cola. She's a bit of a mess with all the bushy stuff going on so the picture isn't as clear as I would've hoped for.

I also bent her cola down some more. She's beginning to look like something you would find under a scrog net. "Bailers Booya"I counted 10 secondary budsites + the cola.
