So I make bho and ethonal (qwet) aswell as rosin and I like bho better when done correctly alcohol is a close 2nd. Now alcohol isn't cheap but is the easiest to do no matter wat u do including rosin the fresher the bud is the better for rosin it needs to be 62% humidity or lower the bho/alcohol is best directly off the plant the older the material the darker the color gets also freeze ur butane/alcohol and ur bud if using a solvent I can help I out as I been smoking concentrates for almost 10yrs now never smoke flower anymore. Here are some pics. Another tip don't use iso use everclear or grain alcohol iso kills terps although if making concentrate edibles it is the best to use as its super cheap. No matter wat way u go buy a heat mat that's designed to only go up to say 140 or so BAC is a great company that has all u need for alcohol or bho extractions take a look @ there site. If u need nething or have ? Lmk I will be doing a run of both bho and alcohol and will include the winterizing process.

qwet...quick wash eth tech ? i think is what it stands for.if iso or anything else but eth is used its not qwet.efficient ? if not reclaimning the alc then its not efficient at all.if its a long soak (to get more thc,its not a quick wash/but more efficient) imo eth and iso leaves a damp dog smell/flavour.eth for a tincture and iso for cleaning a grinder with a bonus smoke https://www.autoflower.org/threads/space-case-large-4-part-grinder.67322/
a good watch but not a tutorial as starts off with "using iso not eth cause i couldnt get any eth" and just because someone sounds like they know it all,they just might not

I have done all 3 as well, but I prefer rosin. Mainly because it doesn't use a solvent.

The taste from my extensive use of 3 different presses is no where as good and as long a u purge correctly it contains less butane then the food we eat that is flash froze with butane which has a higher concentration . I've not found a pressure nor temp that will taste as good nor yield as well as bho/ethonal as for taste with bho Iso or ethonal the colder the better as all of these methods produce a extract that contains lipids fats ect which is why winterized products are better. If ur having taste issues then u did to long of a soak long soaks in any solvent is only good for eating imo bc of all the filtering to get out all the other stuff like lipids fats ect. In the end I will say rosin doesn't yield as well for the simple fact half or so of the oil u got is trapped in the bud still as there is no way tho extract it I've made good edibles from pressed buds I've learned this through the last 8 to 10yrs as I said I don't smoke anything but concentrates bc nothing else works for me a normal edible for me is 300mg to 500mg depending on my pain ect per dose and I smoke for fun aswell as relief from medical problems obviously everyone is different though.

That totally depend I've had a low of 10%-11% and as high as 33% return so that's hard to say they say a good average I 1g made from 7g of material it will along very with same strain using different solvents.

So expecting 10 grams or roughly 10 ml is a reasonable expectation?

I would say so I know for ever strain I've ran I've never got less then 10% some bud extracts well some doesn't it's all great quality but yield could better basicly if u go with alcohol of any type freeze it as cold as u can along with the bud let buds soak for 20sec then strain and press/squeeze the buds to get as much of ur alcohol out of the material then freeze the alcohol wait 24/48hrs and strain this will give good flavor and quality you can even pour alcohol over the bud in a strainer will be ever cleaner but less yield. I did this exclusively for 5yrs it works very well.

I didn't consider refreezing the wash afterwards. But after seeing @Noshit archie gemmill video.
It makes a little more sense to me now.
I plan on using ethanol from my local TSC.
They don't really say the purity on the gallon
I also forgot to mention at the beginning of my post.
The extraction will be used in a salve ( muscle rub).
So this makes for a more forgiving experiment.
