Hi all

Royal Queen Seeds White Widow Auto
Indoor grow in 2x4 tent
Mars hydro TS600
7litre coco coir
Canna A and B

Thanks to help from you guys I was just about to harvest the end of my first grow, now on about day 90.

The tent has been about 55% RH and not gone below about 18C for the last few weeks. I noticed yesterday yellowing of the leaves on the bud but I didn’t clock on for some reason.

Today I had a much closer look and to my horror it seems like bud rot? So I guess I need to throw both plants away (there’s another WW, not pictured but 2 weeks behind this one) and start again?

Very upset obviously but will need to pay more attention next time.

It seems like it’s on. The 3 biggest ones. The lower colas APPEAR to not have rotted but I don’t know what the situation is on their stem...

I had literally just started the cleanse on it with plain tap water. So I can’t even try to salvage and harvest now because it’s been on a high dose of hydroponics nutes and will taste like shit?

Feeling your pain and frustration buddy!.. would it be possible to salvage any untainted buds with a water cure?... just putting it out there... hopefully someone will drop by and help with a solution?!?.. gutted for ya... easy now...

I’m guessing that because the fungus spreads from the stem, even if I hack off all the bigger affected colas, the lower ones are still gunna be hit with it eventually from the stem outward?
Steppa - that’s not a bad idea, I will ok into it thank you

I harvest hydroponics without flushing and my flavors are very very good. Flushing is mostly a myth. Cut out the bad parts and harvest the rest.

Just harvest, cut out the bud rot and then wash your buds in an H2O2 solution, followed by a rinse of fresh water and then a wash with lemon juice rinse, followed by baking soda water solution, followed by a good rinse in another bucket or plastic dish pan of fresh water. Hang to dry for a few days before finishing in brown paper bags.

I had a pound off of a photo plant last September on an outdoor grow and only lost 1/4 pound. I had huge tightly packed colas and a couple had bud rot. Just cut it out well enough to get to good bud that the rot hasn't gone into.

The H2O2 should kill any remaining spores. The acid from a lemon juice and water bath raises the Ph in case any remain. The baking soda dunk then neutralizes the acid from the lemon juice bath. Final rinse removes the residues.

Do an initial trim before you start of fan leaves and tips of sugar leaves if you want.

I wash all my bud since I grow outdoors. Get the bird and bug crap off the weed and all the dust and dirt that accumulates. When I hang I set up a fan blowing across the weed for a few hours to get excess water off of the leaves. I break the colas down some and then after washing and hanging for a couple days I finish breaking down to manageable bud size.

Noted, thank you.
Having now had a more through inspection of the plant, I can see that only the top 3 (biggest) colas are showing rot symptoms. I have cut these off - looking more closely, it doesn’t seem to be brown through the whole cola, the lower parts of these 3 colas seem okay. For safety should I not risk taking any bud off these colas, or if it looks fine should I go ahead and dry it?
