Extraction Edibles and trim question

I want to try to make tincture down the road when I get my mbm. I've never made tincture yet but am curious how that goes as well. Is that what ppl make with everclear or with oil?

The Official Magic Butter Machine used to say they are not legitimate? They have changed their tune on this one since I purchased mine. Maybe they solved the knock-offs on Amazon?

I have always done a half ounce to an ounce of bud per 4 sticks of unsalted butter and 4 cups of water when I make it. The water helps to leach some of the taste out but leaves all the good stuff behind once you seperate the water and butter with the fridge cooling method. When I'm using trim I use all the trim for a whole plant in 1 batch. I also make vegetable oil sometimes too if I dont got butter but then I dont use any water cuz hot oil and water dont mix well. Lol
You will actually extract more chlorophyll doing it that way because chlorophyll is water soluble. It is best to do just the butter extraction. Filter out the fiber and then do a butter wash with water. This will then remove a lot of the chlorophyll that did get in the butter.

You peeps have my attention, some of your "trips" sound a bit rough... Perhaps it is a good thing that so far I have only used trim for my extracts.

@Mañ'O'Green your way of decarbing after extraction also has my attention. Damn good idea methinks. Thanks for sharing. :pighug:
I have been making cannahoney recently. Before that I made cannaoil with olive oil and after that with coconut oil. I made plenty of brownies when I made oil from trim first and after that with buds. I never know how strong the edibles will be. I have had brownies that I could eat no more than a single 1 inch square. A few times I ate two full sized brownies after not feeling any effects after eating a single brownie and waiting an hour and eating another. Big mistake. Serious tripping. Had to crawl in bed and got up 8 hours later and was seriously buzzing still.

With cannahoney, I basically dip a teaspoon or tablespoon into the honey and just eat it and wait two hours before taking anymore. First time I made cannahoney, filled the jars with strained honey and my one hand was covered from squeezing the filter bag. I licked the honey off my hand like Winnie-the-Pooh and an hour later I was freaking out from an overdose.

Never heard of cannahoney. I did not know that honey would actually extract cannabinoids, I thought they were primarily fat soluble.

In any case, honey, canna or otherwise, is off the agenda for this diabetic.

Mañ'O'Green solved my concentrate query and quandary. I'll take the remaining results from my dry ice shake that I didn't make into temple balls and just decarb and infuse it in cocoa butter on a LCD Screen Separator hot plate. Done!

Pretty simple, effective and gives me different options to utilize my canna.
As soon as the hot plate arrives, I'm gonna make GrandMa's fudge! :pie:

I used my trim and larf for the first time this year from my outdoor harvest for chocolate chip cookies. Usually I use my flower, which burns alot of flower at an oz a batch. I've made 4 batches with my trim and been very happy. I have enough to last until my upcoming harvest...

I plan on using it from here on out. I've also made some tincture but not with alcohol because I don't drink. I found it to be okay, but a good cookie is my preferred way. I decarb, then I use ghee butter after that. I used to strain and throw away the green after, but I realized it was a waste and now I just grind it before mixing with the ghee and I don't even notice it in the cookie. They are stronger that way and I don't have any waste besides stems I pick out.

Yesterday I decarbed just over two ounces of bud, mix of four different strains that I had in jars that was getting older and though still at 59% RH with humidity packs in the jars it was not premium anymore. I processed it in my Infuzium with 2 1/2 cups approximately of virgin coconut oil for baking use for 1 1/2 hours at 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Yielded over two cups of cannaoil.

I forgot to add the two tablespoons of sunflower lecithin. Is it really needed?

Some sites say it isn't needed. Others say it is needed for making gummies which I plan on using the coconut oil for. Can it be incorporated in the cooking of the gummie mixture when I heat the coconut oil when I heat it in the the preparation of the gummie mixture on my stovetop when I will be using an immersion blender?
