Extraction Edibles and trim question

Ok thank you. I only tried crock pot method but I usually do it on the stove top.
With care and attention, pretty much any method can do the job. The MBM just automates the process so less work is involved. I think it would be a great idea for anyone with more money than patience for controlling things manually.

My last decarb effort was grinding in a bud grinder, putting the ground weed in a preheated 1 liter mason jar, and heating it in the oven while giving it a bit of a stir once in a while by just rotating the jar. It did a good job of decarbing, but as MOG mentions, it does still leave the toasty taste. Decarbing after extraction sounds really interesting to me, and I will try it next. The oil bath method that MOG uses sounds like an excellent solution to me, and that may be what I try next.

Happy extracting @NorthernLights_420. :pighug:

I've always used the crockpot and at 1st stayed with a 24hrs at least simmer. But ultimately found if I cooked the butter for 3 days it was at it's best and I'm not sure on a toasty taste. It's been so long. Definitely had the 'weed' taste even thru the chocolate and pb, but I don't remember toasty. I like to make no-bakes specifically as no cooking involved, which means your butter will be it's most potent and they are absolutely knock out. (Literally!)

Yes Magic Butter Machine II. It takes all of the busy work out of extracting into oils. I love mine. It allows for long low heat extractions in butter that preserves the butter flavor while doing a complete extraction. I made some for one of my chef buddies. He fed some rice crispy treats made with it to his mother-in-law and she passed out  Oops.

oops indeed. Edibles are so much fun.

Thanks all. I appreciate all the feedback. I'm gonna decarb at 240 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven for an hour then simmer some ro water and 4 sticks of butter and all the trim from purple nuggets on the stove top for 5 hours tomorrow. Then cool in fridge. Then remove budder from water and make only 1 batch of "space brownies" I call em. Haha. I want to get a magic budder machine 2. Found em on Amazon for a decent price. So I'm gonna get one of those when I can. Thanks

Be careful the ones on Amazon may be knock-offs.

Yeah edibles are a fucking joke every time I have bought them at a dispensary they never do shit to me. But when I make them watch the fuck out (mist of the time!!) I have scared more than myself with my edibles. Haha. I gave my grandpa a brownie this past year. He ate half of it and he dont smoke or eat weed ever but he wanted to try an edible so I brought him one. I fucked his world up too. Haha my uncle thought it was gonna kill Papa. My gramps was glad he only ate half he said. That batch I made wasnt potent to me and didnt get me high but it fucked his world up that night. Some batches of my edibles come out so potent and knock me on my ass. Other times they are way less potent and I dont understand what I do wrong sometimes when they're not strong. I am trying to develop a technique so that the oil or butter only comes out strong and potent but I haven't mastered it yet. Its hit or miss sometimes. But imma make some budder today and probably sum brownies tonight.
How much trim do you use? When I make butter I use 4 sticks of unsalted butter 1 cup water and 6-14 grams of trim. Any more and you past out. Here's my latest batch of butter made last Friday

This was 14 grams of trim.

I take all my trim and decarb it. Then put in mbm with everclear, strain, evaporate, mix oil with mct oil and lecithin. Then put it into pills. I crush people with these pills. No taste no calories. Just a burp that let's you know what you took a few mins later lol.

This is the one I found on Amazon. Is this legit? Same one you got? Says it is the magic butter machine 2.

I have always done a half ounce to an ounce of bud per 4 sticks of unsalted butter and 4 cups of water when I make it. The water helps to leach some of the taste out but leaves all the good stuff behind once you seperate the water and butter with the fridge cooling method. When I'm using trim I use all the trim for a whole plant in 1 batch. I also make vegetable oil sometimes too if I dont got butter but then I dont use any water cuz hot oil and water dont mix well. Lol
