Grow Mediums Dwc question

As for growing a bigger plant, I doubt it. Not autos anyway. But I do agree the bigger the res the more stability you'll have. Just because the the container holds 20 gallons don't mean you will using 20 gallons of nutrients. Who puts 5 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket? Res changes can be made easy, add a water level gauge or drain ball valve, hook it up to a water pump and pump it out. Never will have to lift the netpot and plant out.

Surely you'd have to remove the plant and netpot for cleaning the bucket or tank? otherwise wouldnt there be some sort of build up? :peace:

If you gotta go bigger than this then go for it I guess

I'm tryin ...lol

If you have all your ducks in a line, running a proper res and keeping organics out of it, except a microbe tea which helps keeps the system cleaned. There should be no buildup, if you have slime and gunk building up, something isn't right. Also wanted to add a bigger res, you could possibly get up to 2 weeks out of it before changing it out.

sounds good ...if it were me I'd try a 55 gal drum then... post pics! .if it don't work you can always cut it in half and make a damm good bar-b-que grill :wiz:

Vira, my jaw just hit the freakin floor when i saw your pic!!! ok, no need to comment people. A picture IS worth a thousand words!!! Well done Vira!!!

My 1st dwc grow was in a 18 gallon res. while it was a pain in the ass to clean out and waste a lot of nutes Iv never had a bigger yield than when I used the 18 gallon. I grew autos, and on my last 2 grows I used 10 gallon res and grew photos, they didnt compare what so ever to the massive yield to the autos in the 18 gallon res. just my 2 cents.

How bigger the reservoir is the more stable the ph and EC values:Cool:
