I put mine on nutes as soon as the tap root hits the water. Usually around 300 ppm. But with DR maybe 200 to start. Only finised one so my experience with the strain is minimal. My fav. Things about DR was the smoothness of the smoke and the permagrin. how hot was the mix when you burnt yours?

ppm was barely over 110 and i noticed the nute burn the next day. I'm thinking to give it another go this weekend when i change the resevoirs. I have one photo girl goin and shes on week 2 of nutes so i figure the DR should be nice and ready for a little heat this comming saturday. still nervous.

Thats crazy mine are getting 250 well dinafem haze autos and some other buddah freebies from tude syrup, white dwarf, diemos..Floranova grow and alittle floralicious plus and hyrgozyme is extra not in the ppm since day 8 and r loving it almost to the 2nd week from time i put seed in towel to crack..on thursday they will be bumped to 350..Must be a strain thing..Bt good luck on ur MEDS..

Noticed pistols this morning on my DR! This is day 20ish of the grow. I also noticed a small yellow spot on one of her leaves. Tonight i will be changing out the res and adding a small amount of flower nutes. I'm thinking 1/4 strength. My only question is do start off with the additive too? and if so do i use 1/4 strength as well? Posting pics up later just wanted to know what anyone thought of the yellow spot and additive.

update from yesterday. I stopped by the hydro store last night and picked up some hygozyme figuring it would be best to have it to do some preventative measures and keep my roots nice and healthy. I got home and cleaned the res out and started again with the nutes. Its pushing 3 weeks from seed so i started with 1/4 strength flower nutes (first flowring pistols popped up yesterday) and same measurements for the additive that Dutch Master offers. I put half the recommended dose of cal mag. The ppm read at 350 but the ph was down to 4.44. I think the cal mag brings it way down. I will check the Ph on my lunch break again and if it hasn't gone up any then i will have to get some PH up. I currently just have PH down. Is this low PH harmful? Keep in mind im doing hydro. I havent noticed any visible signs of damage as of this morning. Hoping it stays that way. Take a gander at the pics below. I've got a root shot, side shot, top shot and a inside shot, hopefully you can see the small pistols starting to form. The very last picture is a top view of my power kush. I will have more updates on her when i change the res this saturday. Any comments welcomed please!

Yea... i grow in soil. but the other day when I added cal mag to my distilled water ph dropped below 4.0. That was the first time that i noticed my ph was that low and had been watering that way a couple of times with no problems. I do believe its best if you get it up to atleast mid 5's for your grow. Cal Mag drops ph BAD!

thanks jayboy! im kinda of obsessed with this lol. especially since i can take the lid off my bucket look and see new growth in the roots every time i look. This whole thing is just awesome. Wondering if i should skip the cal mag next feeding. Ill make that final decision after a few more days and see if the low ph has any consequences.

Root Rot?!!

this is day 26 and things are not looking too great for the Diesel Ryder. Over the Last week i noticed some brown spots after i had decided it was time to try nutes out again. I picked up some hygozyme and added it and noticed even more brown the next day. I then picked up some zone by dutch master and applied that. there is still what appears to be root rot. I do see some new root growth, i can tell because they are white. the plant seems to droop half way through the day and today i just noticed some small brown spots on 2 of the fan leaves :cry:. She still seems to be growing as i see pre-flower pistols more and more each day. Ive cleaned out the res twice now and used h2o2 to sanitize my buckets. I'm hoping the zone will help. Does anyone know what i can do to help this poor plant?

My other plant, the power kush is doing very well on the other hand. the pictures below will show the comparison between the 2 girls. Do keep in mind the PK is a photoperiod so technically, shes less mature than the DR but is lookin mighty fine! Please tell me what i can do about the 1st picture, where there seems to be a growing root rot problem. :no:

my ph was low at 4.4 but ppm was only 220...i know that is super low. I didnt even use cal mag this time because it was bringing my ph down and only used 5ml of dutch master bloom nutes and thier add.27. Is this root rot?

probably... hard to see... the white white stiff roots are healthy... but the ones with a little brown is root rot.... ph and temps can affect this... 4.4 is WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY LOW

ps you can us baking soda to bring your ph back up... careful... a little goes a long way
