jayboy- are you going to do a hydro grow or you sticking with soil?

I plan on sticking with the soil for awhile...hear its a good way to learn the plant for beginners and supposedly has slightly better taste. I cant really tell the difference myself, but I also hear that you've never really had good meds until you've grown them yourself. And thats why Im here! But i will definitely end up giving the hydro a go once i get things tuned in with my soil ops.

For some reason going soil did not seem interactive enough to keep my interest in growing and its a lot messier dealing with soil in all...I have read hands down that grown in soil just taste better than hydro, but so far i am loving all the detail and attention is needed on a daily basis. Also, being able to see the roots grow is really neat! And after being a chronic smoker for the past 8 years now, im glad ive finally invested in growing my own meds. I can't wait to see all the money ill be saving after i get a good rotation going on these plants. I feel robbed already paying what i do for "good" herb now, knowing i can grow my own that is 10 times better in quality. Good luck to you and your med growing

Hydro in one form or another is how I do. I'm like you. Don't need the dirt and shit in the house. Tried an indoor organic grow once. The bugs were marching past me into my grow, carrying a suitcase, talking bout what's up. Wasn't really any serious threats but figured it was just a matter of time. I love my little dwc's. So easy and clean. I will put my buds against anybodies for taste, potency, and yield. I started hydro growing to see the difference and to see how far away i was frpm pushing a plant to it's full potential. I found I wasn't even close with my dirt grows. I will be growing dro from now on. Atleast till I get bored. Then i will try to catch my dro with the organics. Maybe even organic dro. If you look in the 2010 pics thread in my cig. They were all grown in a small gallon sized DWC.

Really nice photos cave dirt! I'm happy with my choice to go hydro, although i must say ive turned a bit obsessive about my plants, even dreaming about them now -__- Hoping my girls turn out as beautiful as yours! Tell me, what has been ur biggest difficulty with dwc overall?

Ph climb has been my biggest issue. Only with my veg nutes. If I didn't have to work it wouldn't be much of an issue at all. But since I do there are days when the ph climbs and I'm not there to adjust. I have recently went to using hygrozyme and h2o2 keeping everything sterile. My ph has been alot more stable. Slime of some sort got in on my last grow. Talk about a ph nightmare. That was it. A little hygrozyme and it was taken care of.

I'm using Dutch Master nutes and have a bottle of h202 but am reluctant to use it because i read on the DM site that it should only be used for well water and that it destroys beneficial bacteria. I'm also afraid to give my Diesel Ryder any veg nutes because i already have a lil nute burn...do you suggest holding off on nutes till flower or start again with small amounts of veg nutes in a about a week or so...im nervous! lol

I put mine on nutes as soon as the tap root hits the water. Usually around 300 ppm. But with DR maybe 200 to start. Only finised one so my experience with the strain is minimal. My fav. Things about DR was the smoothness of the smoke and the permagrin. how hot was the mix when you burnt yours?
