I want to harvest the Balls and get that male out of there. Any help appreciated. Is it ready what is proper technique? I posted in Sanctuary too to maybe get some help soon before he busts a nut and it's too late.

Guess Who got a haircut? Trimmed a bunch of fan leaves back and some off. Cut all the small stuff and branches that were too short and were just pulling energy from the plant and couldn't get light.
Notice How you can actually see the little buds now? Really opened up a lot of light. Hope it was much more positive an alteration than negative.

@ JM, Thanks for the Thread Link to Pollen Harvest! I cut a few branches and ran my finger across them and collected the sacs that fell off in an envelope. Letting them dry now. Hope it works. Still got my male in there just in case. :D

looking stellar bro... glad i could help....

@TBM... nice... hadnt thought of articling it.. lol

also gearbear... tip from mossy:

Mossys K.I.S.S.
POLLENATION IDEAS FOR SMALL GROWS.
where there is no second room...and you don't want a Full pollenation...here are a few ideas
First of all...
You Don't need the Full male.
If you bring a male up to sex....there are a number of option.
ALL of these need to be done in a warm dry place.
Damp/moisture KILLS pollen.
Take him out of the grow room..place him in another warm dry area..
it doesn't even have to be in the light...he will Start flowering..and drop pollen.
Take him out of the grow room and remove a couple of the long-stemmed flower spikes...
Put in a glass of water..he will flower and pollenate same as Any other cut flower.
Take him out of the grow room...cut him down...
make a paper bag out of a couple of pages of newspaper....
pop him in and hang the Bag up...
in a couple of days he will have shed enough pollen in the bag to make a pollenation.
Manual pollenation is best done with a SOFT paint brush.
Dab the paint brush down into the pistils/bud...like insect legs transfering pollen into them.
Pistils will Normally wizen and start to withdraw within 24 hours..
unless you have a cold set up...and the transpiration in slowed.

12/12 Day 10:

520ppm, 80s temp, ph? high 5's or low 6.

Officially declare lazy day on my grow, I wanted to work on other things around the house. Yes, I needed to do more in my grow, but they look happy and great and the water level was just fine (not respirating nearly as much with less leaf :twist:) Plus Jill and Maxi grew another inch or two, stop it already gah.

I will probably change the res in the next couple of days. I will again be able to get a more accurate ph, although I think I've been within .5 of it since mych inoculation. Less of the spores will be in the water once I dump and clean. Clearer Water= Clearer ph.

Oh, I changed the CO2 bubbler again.

how do you change your res water? some type of siphon hose or a drain on the res? also,do you rinse the root mass or leave it undisturbed? doesn't the water level falling .then rising at a different temp shock the roots? i was hoping that with the short growth period i could use the same res water untill the flush cycle, but apparently not. i better inquire now as to how often and the proper method to prevent problems later down the road. sorry thats alot of questions but they are better asked before anything bad happens because i didn't think ahead.

well, it's a delicate matter. I basically have an empty tub of the same size. I un-hook and pick up the lid and raise out of the res container and out of the grow cabinet and set into the clean empty container. I then remove the res. and empty and drain it all. I wipe it out real good with a bunch of paper towels and clean the air bubbler real good of any slime feel. Make sure it's all good and clean and dry and then put my water in that I have had been setting at room temp (or above) into the res. and add the correct ppm of nute and stuff then ph balance. Then I reassemble everything and carefully place roots and plants back into res and into closet, hook everything back up and then back to game on.
I've only changed my Res about 4 times this grow. It becomes more difficult with the older the plants get as there is more roots and lots more plant to be cautious of.
I haven't been able to tell of any shock from water at room temp or above.

I can't really tell ya how often. It just feels right or about time? Most places advise about every 2 weeks? Nah, maybe about every 2-4 weeks. You'll know after a few times. Your tank starts to get a real aquarium type smell, and You added fertz about 2 times or so in since your last change, That's when I change. You need to change it every 2 weeks if you maintain like 70 degrees constant, but mine drops when the temp drops a bit and when temps are down for a while I won't need to change res. for a longer period of time.

Hope this helps...

thank you vm ,you just solved a complex problem with a simple answer. another res ready to take the lid with the plants undisturbed, y didnt i think of that? i hope the top doesn't flex too much lifting it off the res but,i can stiffen the sides a bit with a piece of 1/2 " pvc pipe or something. my wifes tomato plants will probly love the old res water too. i really appreciate that advice.

Hey no problem, I hope they do that is what I'm planning to try with mine. I'll add half garden hose water before I give it to them. My lid had no problems on stability. I doubt PVC reinforcements will be necessary unless it's a long narrow type container.

You could even get real creative if you go that rout and build a pvc handle that hold the lid stabilized and then just set up a couple of wire hangers to hook it to and just suspend it off to the side( with something to catch drip) while ya do your business.
