Dutch Passion Dutch Passion StarRyder under HS1 - First ever grow journal

Day 26

She's really gaining height now, I've had to lift the light a couple of times recently to keep it at about 35cm from the top. One side branch has gone for it and is now the taller than the main stem.

I took her out for some photos with flash to check her colour is ok, she seems happy still!

Looking spot on there bro!:grat:

Thanks, it's amazing how much better things go with a journal up. I've had so much help from everyone - spotting issues before they become real problems.

Great grow man so far, love the HS1, have to get myself one!

Star Ryder is one of the best smelling autos I've grown...it's all pine+peaches+pineapple+mango... awesome!.

Keep it up!

Sounds excellent, thanks! Feeling a little impatient for flowering now though..

Day 27

So, she's still growing fairly rapidly, really gaining height quite fast now and still looking happy.

Anyone got any bright ideas about when to switch over to flower nutrients? Last time I made the switch way too early and ended up with dwarf plants...

Sometime between weeks 5 and 6 or when vertical growth stops. They should grow about an inch per day and slow a few days before vertical growth ends. If you have room let the plant streach so more light will get to the interior buds or start lst. I don't prune until late in flower but faded187 has done some great work.

Respect to the lush green colour. Your feeding regime is working regardless of your date choice to switch nutes.

Hey thanks for the advice. I'd be so out of my depth if it wasn't for all the help raining down!

I'm going to try and let her stretch, hopefully I wont run out of height...

Will get my research on re pruning. Cheers!

She looks great. Checking in to see how those Leds are doing. . :)

Your plants are doing great and the color looks perfect. Your light height seems good and your set-up is very tight. How much water are you giving her and do you get run-off? I see you have a small circulating fan, can you mount it below the light and make the leaves shake lightly? Watering deeply will get the roots to go all the way to the bottom and will keep salts from building up at the lower level of the pot. Autos are so fast that by the time a problem shows correcting it is hard to do without a loss of yeild. Exchanging the air often will bring in more CO2 but cold temps will stunt growth, heating the tent was a good move. Too much air cirulating will cause the plants and roots to dry too quickly, it looks like you have it just right. Start nutes at 1/4 of recomended and work your way up, after a few grows you will learn how the nutes effect autos, everytime I use more than 1/2 rate I burn. Good luck and good grow karma.

Hello mate. You want to be monitoring you plant around week 5-6 when the stretch stops. There has been some documenting on here, of giving DP Autos bloom nutrients 10 days after they show sex, with no stoppage of stretch.

Those who can count (better than me anyways) will notice that yesterday was day 28, not 27 as I put in the title. Sigh...

I love the Led, the change from CFL is ridiculous! So little power, such a happy plant.

I'm currently giving about 1.5L every other day, this is up from every 5-6 days in the first couple of weeks. I'm not watering to run-off this time as I read somewhere it's not required with bio-bizz and I thought I would give it a go. Lets hope I haven't caused a huge buildup of salts at the base of the pot...

I put the fan at the top to avoid the warm air pooling up there, I'm getting some leaf shake at the top of the plant now, but as the temperatures are fixed now I might try dropping it as you suggest.

I've noticed how little feed she needs, she looks like she has a touch too much N today and I've been giving 1/2mL/L grow, so with today's water I only gave 1/2mL cal/mag. Lets hope this sorts it.

Thanks, that's interesting! I'm away for a couple of days over the weekend so I need to decide if I give her bloom before I head off or stick to grow...
