Dutch Passion Dutch Passion StarRyder under HS1 - First ever grow journal

Ah, nice plan! Cheers TaNg!

Hey man, thanks! Yeah when I started looking into growing I was amazed how much it had changed since I helped a mate grow a couple of plants years back. Being able to use only 75W and get results in 11-12 weeks is incredible!

Cheers for the tip! I have a bit of a headache on this as the tent is in my insulated but unheated loft. I left the loft hatch open overnight which has helped (range between 24 and 21 now) but I'm wondering if I should add a small space heater on a thermostat to the loft to keep the ambient temperature a little higher and get the tent up to the range you suggest.

A small tube heater or a CFL will add heat bro.

Day 6

She's still small, but I'm quite happy with progress.

Leaving the loft hatch open has helped lift temperatures a bit, I'm thinking I'll have to add some heating to the loft for when I fire up the ventilation.

Boring Data logging:
T - 24 - 20 C
RH - 55 - 37%
Water/feed - none

I'm a little worried that if I just heat the tent the cold draft from the intake might cause upset, particularly once the extract is up and running. If the ambient room temperature is about 12-15 degrees the intake might be a bit of a shock to plants used to 26 degrees no?

I was planning to heat the loft to near 20 degrees, then use the heater in the tent to lift it the last bit up to 26-28.

Or am I getting this all wrong?

I feel good about my auto-blueberry now after seeing yours. It's on day 7 and looks like that under a couple cfls. Thanks for the pic.

Edit: sorry I can not comment on your air flow, I have no clue

Give your seedlings time people. Your actual growth at this moment is going on under the soil in the root department. When they are more establish then BOOM growth happens above the soil. It looks good to me :)

The plants love the higer temperatures, they wont be shocked as higher temps you are aiming for are ideal to them. Still looking good man keep it up.

Dont worry about the cool air from the intake that will heat up the second it hits the warm air.

Do you have a journal up? It would be good to see how you go. I'm told auto-blueberry is lovely, so good choice there!

This is so true, the week of watching a pair of leaves slowly grow can be a bit dull, but there is more going on than meets the eye style of thing. I just get impatient despite myself!

Cheers, all the advice and moral support is much appreciated!

Ok, will see what I can find to provide a bit more heat! Maybe another of the small heaters will do the trick. Thanks for taking time to drop in and dispense advice, it's appreciated.

No dude I don't. I guess paranoia gets the best of me. Maybe once it starts flowering I'll throw something up.
Thanks for the comment, I did a lot of research on that strain. I was going for a strain with a "euphoric happy" high, and it seems this auto-flower kept popping up in my searches with that description.

I'm super stoked to see what your Star-Ryder does. I read an awesome review about that in a magazine at Barnes & Noble, might have been Treating Yourself, and the guy said the high had some long legs, not to mention the yield was great.

Day 7

I'm loving taking photos at the moment, so have a couple more! Though you might struggle to tell the difference from the last update, at some point I might become less excited and slow the updates slightly...

I think she'll have her last root juice only feed tomorrow and I'll start adding miniscule amounts of grow from the feed after that. Temps are looking a bit better now between 20.5 at night and 26 in the day.
