Hi everyone! This is my first ever grow journal, and my second ever grow so please be gentle! If I'm doing anything wrong whether in the grow or the forum then please let me know. All advice gratefully received.

My first ever grow was a bit ropey, got about 30-35g a plant from vision seeds AK49auto but had lots of problems from heat stress using 500W of CFL in summer and also using plagron batmix. Setup now tweaked, hoping to fix the issues.

Setup

- 75x75x160 Tent
- 4" extract fan w. carbon filter (passive intake)
- 15l airpot (which is way bigger than I expected!)
- Soil mix of 3/4 seed and cutting compost, 1/8 perlite and 1/8 rich garden compost (ordered some lightmix but it got lost en route so improvised from what I had in the garden shed)
- Biobizz nutrients
- Grownorthern HS1
- Small desk fan @ high level to stir up the warm air.
- Small bar heater w. thermostat set at 25 Celsius.

I soaked the seed for 10 hours and have put in the soil under clingfilm to germinate as this is how I've learned to germinate seeds when gardening.

Temps are currently stable between 21 and 25 degrees, you'll notice I'm having to keep the water in the tent as it gets down to about 10 degrees outside the tent over night. I'm not running the extraction yet as steady temperature seems more critical than air changes at the moment.

I'll try to update regularly as this will be where I record nutrients, temperatures ph etc for troubleshooting later, apologies if this makes it a little dry at times!

Loving all the HS1 grows popping up,all the very best with this one and hit me up if you think I can help.
Im going to start a diary tomorrow and will be asking HS1 owners to add updates so we can get all the early results in one place.

Nice tidy setup and you've been busy doing your homework ;)... Best of luck and I got a feeling you're gonna be the wildcard of the HS1 grows.

Hey man! I wish u a good luck with the grow. Interested in the led so will fallow along on the ride :)

Hey Derek, awesome set up.

Hi, thanks! I'm properly excited about it if I'm honest. I'm sure I'll make my share of mistakes, but I feel a lot more in control than last time.

Hey, thanks for dropping by, it's much appreciated! If (when) things go sideways I'll be sure to come running.

I expect there will soon be piles of HS1 grows about, firstly because it's really very exciting and should give brilliant results (which is why I wanted one), but also because the power usage is so low! I costed it and compared to my last setup the HS1 will pay for itself in power alone within 4 grows, and that's without considering how much better it is than a load of CFL (which is how I sold the plan to my gf).

The diary sounds like a great idea, I'll keep an eye out for it

Hey, cheers! Reading AFN is far too much fun to count as homework, but it's amazing how it broadens the horizons. I just had a look at your setup, fascinating stuff you're up to!

Hi Derek! Nice setup, looking to follow on the ride/grow.

Cheers!

Hey Derek, welcome to AFN. :welcome:
Sweet little setup you got there... jealous of your LED :Cool bud: Should give you impressive results with just one plant.

Just a thought tho... If you're keeping the water bucket in the tent you might want to put a lid/cover on it to block the light or you'll get algae growing in there.
Good luck with the grow man.:Sharing One:

Nice looks like you are ready to ROCK with The GN setup ..LOVE my GN leds...TEMP issues suck LOL can make ya plants short if they get too cold .
