Dutch Passion Dutch Passion StarRyder grow by Seymour-buds

Well Tony, thats a let down. we'll see how they work out. the TD is from Passion so that should go well. I only ordered the Star after seeing the video and knew i had the room for more plants although i will have to get another 300wt LED or 1000wt MH/HPS combo on mover to get good coverage and i wanted to try DW as well as the aero. going hydro and clones back in 84 after dirt was a piece of cake first time out. the Auto stuff is all new to me so we'll see what happens. The Star Ryder came from the Original Sensible Seed co, where i got the TD from. Nothing i could find anywhere told me if the SR was the same or not. hopefully they will be able to supply the original Star Ryder for the next grow :) Thanks!

the staRryder im growing doesnt go on sale to the public until some time in september pal

Hi mate

Hope you manage to give her a good recovery! My plants are only a few weeks from finishing now! All the pics are working on my thread now if you fancy a butchers. I've seen you use pk 13/14 in the past, do you add to the res every day for 3 - 6 days or just when you make a fresh res? The instructions weren't very clear to me!

Cheers mate

pk 13/14 can be a bit of a tricky 1 to master as to when to use it, many growers have their own theories as to what works best and if you look at all the grow guides for all the different nutrient manufacturers they all give pretty much differet times of when to use it, give her full dosage for 1 week , if the res starts to empty then make a fresh res and add the full amount of pk boost again

normaly when they are in full flower they will be drinking about 4-5 ltrs a day so you within a couple of days the res will need either changing or topping up, i tend to do a full change and start with fresh nutes, obviously this isnt the most cost effective way to grow as your using more nutrients but doing it this way has the advantage of having all the elements available in the correct ratio, when the plant is drinking out the res their is no way of telling what elements she is using so by topping up you may well be making the res toxic

obviously this is just my view point so feel free to experiment

im gonna give the starRyder 1 last res change today and hit her with overdrive, when the res starts to empty ill just be topping up with plain water untill her ec reaches the background ec of my water so basically she will be flushing, i know a lot of people that flush their plants and ph balance the water which i cant get my head around as to why they do this

the whole object of flushing the plant is to make her use up her own reserves and make her think that her life cycle is coming to an end , if you ph balance the water your actually making what ever elements are in the ph down and the water avaiable to her which kind of defeats the object of the whole flushing process

please feel free to enlighten me as to why ph balancing your flush is beneficial to the plant

Late again!

But better late than never I guess.. subbed :dance2:

Thanks Seymour, for sharing your knowledge.

I'm with you on the fresh res change, I'm giving mine a fresh change every 3 days so I'll make sure I add to my next one then stop. I'mm just going 3 weeks before harvest like the instructions state.

I'm glad you mentioned about the ph as I was thinking this exact thing yesterday and my theory was the same as yours. I can now sleep easy!

SB you giving your buddy one of your gals was a class act. Yeah you'll have him growing them damned frosty trees in no time. I tip my hat to you SB. Please tell your friend his lady is looking mighty sexy and we'd appreciate a smoke report.

day 78 from seed

the starRyder is on her last feed and the res is just getting plain water added back, the trichs are 70/30 cloudy/clear so she is in range and will still probably go for another week or more before i bring her down, their is no point in waiting for the trichs to go amber and i dont have any idea if they will go amber due to the sativa influence but i want the soaring sativa head high

the yum yum's are just lazily doing their own thing and you can clearly see the difference in bud formation on the blueberries is loads better because of the ph range

Hey SB, funny you should mention this. What do you use to check on this?

I just received a 60x lens for my iPhone yesterday that I won on ebay and never expected it to be this good, considering I payed 1€ + 2€ shipping...

Anyway, I was under the impression that a 50% amber trich ration was the trick for maximum potency

Quick shot testing the lens, a bit tricky to keep your hand steady and find a good point of focus...

i just use a jewlers loupe nothing to fancy, as for the peak harvest its really down to growers choice, amber trichs dont mean its gonna be the strongest effects it just means it will be more of a body stone

obviously the starRyder is more sativa so i really wanna harvest her at cloudy for maximum soaring sativa kinda high, its all to do with prefrence

you could carry out the experiment yourself with 1 of your plants and harvest a bud when its cloudy and then harvest another when its 50/50 cloudy/amber and then harvest when amber and take note of the different effects you get from each one and see which you like the best

cheers

Very nice SB shes filled out quite well shes more about potency than yield. Bud swell karma sent

cheers for the comment pal,

dont under estimate this strain in terms of what she can achieve, ive carried out this grow using dwc in some of the hottest uk weather we have had these past 11 weeks and i messed up her ph but ill still manage to get a tidy reward for my efforts, ive already stated that if she is given the perfect enviroment you could hit 8zips no problems,i think ive given a good example of the highs and lows of dwc with this grow and managed to show how hardy this strain is to cope with a few knocks and bumps , she will be taken down sometime within the next 10 days and then it will be just my blueberries in the spotlight or should that be the l.e.d light
