Dutch Passion Dutch Passion AutoXtreme in 30 litre airpot

Hey True,

Been gone a while, glad I looked in now. Your pH is, surprisingly, waaay low -- soil, huh? Agree with bob: flush 'em once with water till you have good runoff then rake the top of the soil well and sprinkle a good dose of dolomite lime on them and water it in till you have very little runoff. The pH should climb to acceptable (6-7.0) levels in a few waterings. Any additional feeding should also be done with solution pH at neutral. Your gals are looking fine by the way man. Well done, good luck.

You're welcome, ffs

Thanks mate... I know I was a bit slow. Not sure why or what happened.
I just stalled. Ive had so much input from so many people and everything conflicted.
Thanks for sorting me out!
And extra thanks again for doing the sums!

hey true,

the grow may not be as completely optimised as you would like, BUT the buds are determined to bloom anyway. Auto's are pretty resilient and I think you will get a decent crop from this.

pH is a funny thing. A lot of the pro-growers/breeders have 2 pH meters since they never like to put 100% trust in any single piece of kit. Some growers find out from their local water board about the water supply - often you get a 'sample analysis' which will show you some useful details (e.g. is it predominantly hard or soft water, approximate pH etc etc etc). Many growers like to allow the tap water to stand for a ay or two before giving it to plants, this allows dissolved gas, e.g. traces of chlorine, to disappear. Some growers like to use RO water (reverse osmosis) in times when they have worries about pH etc. Just adding an excess to allow run off.

For the next grow, you could simplify it a little by using bigger airpots with more compost. This might allow you to be able to forget about feeding (just add water) for the first few weeks of the next grow. Perhaps that would require you to feed them only during the last 5-6 weeks.

But back to this grow, I think you will surprise yourself and pul off a decent harvest. Good luck with it

Cheers Tony
Things are picking up a bit, there is a lot going on when you first start back after a 15 year break.
I got overwhelmed with information from everywhere.
Ive calmed down a bit too... Hey who gets it 100% right on there first few grows, let alone the very first one.

The girls now are putting on weight and the smell is stunning.
Im getting excited again... For sure there are some nice results to come :peace:

Thanks South my friend
Ive got some Dolomite Lime on order:check:
In the mean time Im not ph adjusting, so the nutrient soup is 7.5/8.. This should pick the soil ph up a bit.

Six and half weeks since showing above ground

Ive got an feeding EC question if I may

Im in soil in airpots and approaching week 7.
1. What feeding schedule would you be on right now ?
2. What EC would you be aiming for now and in the weeks to come ?

Im using the following in my mix.
2ml per litre Plant Magic bloom nutrients
2ml per litre Plant Magic boost (PK 13/14)
0.5ml per litre Plant Magic cal-mag
0.3ml per litre Plant Magic bio silicon (this is mainly in there to up my ph)

I make up a 10l bucket up of this lovely soup and then plonk in a golf ball air stone and cover up for a few hours or sometimes over night.
I figure this gets everything mixed up and lots of lovely oxygen in there.
This gives me an EC of 1.4 on my Blue Labs EC truncheon, this is then hand watered in.

Base settings of my plain water in a 200l water butt are as follows:
Water temp 22c
PH 8.3
EC 6

If you have something to share, THANKS in advance :peace:

PH of 8.3??? Damn, I hope you aren't drinking that...lol!

Yea we are... Its high aint it?
My son has 3 ears and Mrs True has none... Im sure the water is fine

I would like to look at a reverse osmosis system but Ive got enough on my plate at the moment.
Not sure if totally plain water is better or worse for my plants?
