So its day 75 today and this is the end of my Dutch Passion AutoUltimate's.
My last couple of ladies grown in Plagron Light Mix soil got the chop this morning.
This little darling below comes in at 1.4m tall and is supporting a very trendy fold over top bud....
Apparently this is the latest autumn fashion round these parts
Im trying to think of something to write that sums up this grow.
You know when your head is just empty...
Its been pretty easy overall. As per my first couple of soil grows, mid way through PH took a dive and things got a little hairy until that was resolved.
Out of the 2 soils used, I prefer the Plant Magic stuff I think.
Just on looks alone the Plant Magic soil is lovely and loamy and even all the way through.
That said its deffo more unstable in terms of ph compared to the Plagron Light Mix.
If I were using soil again I would add some lime to the mix in the hope of keeping PH more stable.
Also I found with the Plant Magic soil had much better results at the start of the grow.
The young plants loved it and really got going very very quickly.
All my plants in the PM soil averaged out much taller than the Plagron.
I Followed Tangs guide with no issues or changes I dont think. Thanks again Tang my good man for putting that out there for everyone to use
I changed my water half way through from standing tap water with an EC of 0.8.
To filtered water with an EC of zero.
From now on all water is filtered and zero on the EC metre.
This is the end of soil for me.
Im shocked and I mean totally floored at my results.
Ive not been on here for long and this is only my 3rd grow in soil ever.
I never thought I could achieve anything like 300g grams per plant.
I got a massive 354g of stunning dried bud from my top plant !!
If like me you will have read yourself mad on here and other forums. Perhaps you think some write up's are a bit far fetched.
Im telling you its totally possible. Just follow Tangs guide, watch PH in the soil like a hawk and have some decent lights.
Pretty much thats it. You can get similar results if not better, just get stuck in
Why the end of soil?
Im done and I mean totally done with lumping and bumping soil and pots around at the start and end.
Im sick of hand watering twice a day rolling round stretching and reaching when I should be sat still.
I cant wait for a single res to attend, yea I know there is a steep learning curve coming my way.
But I will take that and hopefully get it mastered. Years ago, 15 years ago I think I used to grow in NFT and had great results.
Good bye soil and hello hydro !!!
Thanks for everyone's comments, help and advice along the way.
Im having a break for a little while and doing a few room upgrades.
My new Alien Pro RDWC kit is ready to be set up and tested out.
Then its the age old problem of which strain to choose????
