Fat resinous buds are very prone to it just due to their structure
It is unfortunate that the bud density became one of the essentials for buyers
I really could care less about how fat the colas are. or dense the bud is, I smoke it all just the same.
Fact is smoking a gram of really good dense buds is just as good as smoking really good airy buds- you just got a snoot full of really good bud.

I am always nervous when I see the plants have dense bud structure.
The Auto Pink Grapefruit I journaled here had some of the heaviest resinous buds I have ever grown.
I kept fans on high blowing across the whole plant. it was in constant movement.
It makes the leaves look horrible to have that much breeze on them, but I did not get any bud rot on that plant and humidity was very high the whole grow.

Conversly I had another plant with not nearly as dense bud structure, but still pretty big. The top cola grew out of the path of the breeze, it was moving because of the breeze on the lower part.
got a bit of bud rot in the very top of the cola.
It wasn't terrible, might have lost a few grams over all.
If I find any, I will just start trimming it out until I don't see any more, then I will pretty rudely spread the other buds out away from each other and the stalk as much as possible,
Spritz the hell out of it(read dripping) with H202 and then set the fans on high on them and then keep an eye out.

So my solution, is air movement. It cant grow without really moist conditions. Air moving through the budds is really the only way of doing that.
You can still get bud rot in dry conditions if your plants are respirating a lot and the buds are too dense to allow it to evaporate away.
Generally, I won't have any more trouble at that point

OK you twisted my arm here is one little pic of the Plagron Girls.. Not the best but just a little teaser.
Im off to finish cutting down Serena now, have a great day everyone :)

DAYEM,TRUE!! With colas the size of bats... Wicked bummed to hear of your rot troubles :( Those buds would need a Dyson fan on high to keep 'em aired out! Righteous Grow!

I fear it's got more to do with the nutes and 'help' we give the plants. In my 'oil services' days when I was globetrotting, I saw landrace grown by the locals, and I never saw colas and buds like one sees on Canna growing forums. I suspect the incidence of bud rot is got a lot to do with how big and dense horticultural canna gets..... Just a thought.

In indoor growing budrot seems to appear on most densed buds. I had not seen it on my 30g screwed plants time ago, even though RH was everything up to 90-95% if not 100 in colder periods of daytime. I saw it last summer on most densed buds on much better plants then before.

But it has no connection with "artificial" feeding, in the early last summer, my friend had been cutting rotten buds on young outdoor photo plants months before finishing. Summer was cold and wet and there was no cure for it, except removing rot when it occurs. Outdoor there is not much else to do. My friend is passionate to organic grow.Strain was Shaman from Dutch Passion. His favorite from last year. His grows are strictly organic if not passionate organic.

It is not strain, it is not time of year if you have so low humidity, it is the fatness of buds you have got, bro. It is hard to aerate fat cola.

Budrot starts from a point inside bud, so at the end, damage in not as big as it seems at the first sight. It does not get overall as mold.

Good Luck!

Hi G, thanks for the reply.
Im blaming myself on this. I had a little rot a while back and should have been more vigilant!
These are my Plagron girls and they just sneaked up and got fat on me while I wasnt looking.

I totally agree and so strain will have a part to play.
Its not the plants fault but these AutoUltimates turn out some Mahooosive cola's!!
Ive neglected the fans, where they could be blowing more.

New deal for me, lights on 24 hours, intake and outlet fans up and four oscilating fans blowing air around.
When I look at these damaged buds, there wet and so so tight you can hardly open them to see the rot.
Much more air needed earlier on.

My bad :(

Thanks Bear I totally agree good bud is good bud :)
Im with you know on the air flow. Also for the next few weeks while its wet and damp here and until this grow is finished the lights are staying on 24/7.

Thanks Waxi mate :)
Upsetting when the cola's are coming down. I lost 4 as big as your thigh but hey on the upside these Plagron girls are so so covered in crystal its unreal.
There crunchy with it... I need to work out a way of getting it all off my rubber gloves when Im done chopping up.

Yea seems we are all saying the same thing.
Dense tight huge buds stop air flow. Poor air flow = rot regardless of inside, outside organic or chemical.
More fans for Christmas this end. Thanks G :)

HOLY SHIT forget the bud Ive been smoking the finger hash and scissor hash collected after trimming.
Im as high as a mother f*cker still the next day.
Just had 14 hours of coma sleep and things are bleary...

Growers privilege this stuff, the best of the best :)
Staying in me chair today... out

Its a cross between locked in syndrome and being hit by a train... with a sweet smooth taste.
Aggressive munchies though, real bad. Mrs True aint speaking to me, she got that look of disgust on her face again :(

Thats all my plants down now from the first grow in Plant Magic soil.
Ive got a few that were put in about 20 days behind with Plagron Light Mix soil. There on water now and should be ready to chop this week.
It looks like a close battle between the soils, Im thinking the first lot on Plant Magic are going to win overall.
We will see :)

what a beast....
How much light do you have in you lab true??
Keep up the good work, and looking forward to your next adventure...
