So then... Seymour was correct... I gave her a through investigation &.... Yep fresh splashes of cal def on her fan leaves... & yes they were starting to go pale...
So I've now learned (& I'm nearly too embarrassed to admit this) that its your FAN leaves that guide you as to how she is getting on... You see her other smaller leaves look lush, green, cool & happy... But her fan leaves were saying don't look at those leaves look at me numb nuts... So if your a noob such as myself & your looking for any signs of deficiency... It's the large FAN leaves that show you the way.. Another valuable lesson in the bag..
I think what happened was... As I said her pH has been creeping down.. So that made me think that the EC was just a tad on the strong side... So I watered down the res to 1.7 EC... Thinking she'd like that better... Nope!! Cal def within about 18hrs..
Now last night her fresh res was set to 1.8-1.9 EC & her pH was set at 5.8.. Now as of this morn.. Her EC is stable but her pH has dropped again to 5.7... No biggie like.. & I changed her late last night so I didn't really have time to let her pH settle for an hr or so.. So it maybe just settled at 5.7 after a while.. I'll know more tonight when I get home & check again.. If its still 5.7 then I'll up it to 5.8 again & monitor.. If it down again I'll be scratching my head & shouting for Seymour.. But hopefully I won't have to bother him..
Maybe she likes her pH at 5.7 coz that's were it seems to be most of the time..
I've also added more air to her res from a little compressor that I use for bubbling my tap water.. She'll like that..
Here's a few pics.. With & without flash..
Peace out guys.. & be happy..
