I should have figured - Rog does tend to embellish his stories a bit. I kind of like the cool bleak and foggy weather as long as I don't have to drive in it. I just can't deal with the bitter windy cold.

Nice you dodged the bullet.I wasn't so lucky cuz of Irma. Lost my hydro crop after 10 days of no electricity. Back to the drawing board...

Oh yeah dodged a bullet this time. I get a little nervous anytime something is brewing in the gulf. Been through lots of storms and didn't think too much about it until 2005. That year we had Cindy in July, Katrina at the end of August, and Rita in September. Katrina was the bad one for me, turned my life upside down. Never fully recovered from that one, storms in the gulf bring on the ptsd symptoms now. I know loss of power for 10 days and your crop really sux, but if that was the worst of it, you got off pretty good. Like brother @Wile e Peyote says, as long as you and yours are safe, that's what counts. Everything else can be replaced.

I see that you are fairly new to AFN - welcome BTW. Was this your first crop? Feel free to hit me up with a PM if ya want to talk. Oh yeah and a bit of this :slap: to get you started.

Thanks Duckster! All this hurricane crap is new to me since moving from Seattle to central Florida 3yrs ago. Our house was only 10 miles from the eye. Definitely scared the crap outta me and my family! I think we're all a bit scarred from the experience. But we came through it safely and w/o major damage. That's all that matters. My crop was my first attempt at hydroponics using the ebb and flow system with a SCROG set up. Just started growing again back in March using soil after a 30yr break. Loved the results of hydro! Had the usual newb problems but worked them out. Was only about a month away from harvesting a nice Blue Dream followed by 2 White Widow and an LSD 25. Salvaged what I could and still got some decent buds to smoke with enough larfy buds, leaf and stems to make canna butter. So it wasn't a total loss. So now I'm reconfiguring my grow space and adding another system. Should be germing some seeds in about 3 days. Thanks for the slap! Looking forward to future conversations.

Seattle to Florida - that's a long ways with some major differences in weather and culture. Bet that took a bit of getting used to. That was a big change. What brought that on, retirement?????
Yeah 10 miles is pretty close. The western side is usually the weak side but it doesn't matter much when you're only out 10 miles. Your severity depends on how far north you are on the track. She was a cat 3 in Naples. Dropped to a cat 2 just north of Ft. Myers. Down to a cat 1 near Lakeland and down to a TS near the FL/GA border.

Good that you were able to salvage something for your efforts and you're getting back in the saddle pretty quick. What are you germing? Are you going to start a journal? If so, tag me in so I can find it. Dude you need an avatar.

So planning to move to a tent in a few months. Trying to figure the kit I'm going to need. Planning for a 4' x 4' x 8' tent. I already have 2 lights, a 480W (actual is about 300) and Amare 300. I will probably add a third light at some point. A little sketchy on what I will need for ventilation though. I'm guessing 400-500 cfm would be enough so maybe a 6"-8" variable speed fan with a carbon filter. Any recommendations would be helpful here.

Wouldn't have a clue ducks I went with a 6 inch phresh silenced hyper fan over kill in a 4x4 x6.5 foot tent never had it off quarter speed I'm running two tents off that one the only downside is if you can't suspend it from elastic bungy cords it vibrates like a bastard oh and it's been running constantly over 2 years [emoji106]
