Grow Mediums Duckster's 2nd DWC

I have hearing lost too and I know how Mrs. Duckster feels. I mean, I mean if you lose your sight people are more likely to feel sorry for you, but if you can't hear your subject to rude treatment. People get frustrated and say never mind, or just forget it. In the States, blind people even get an extra deduction on their taxes. Hard of hearing people don't get nothing but a hard way to go! Ok, I'm done with my rant now and tell Mrs.Duckster I know how she feels! :hump:

I do empathize - really. I bought her a hearing aid but she only used it for about 6 months.

I get what I call ‘the fear’ when I’m talking to people with a strong accent or in broken English. This happens most days. I’ll ask them to repeat about twice and if I still don’t get it I do the smile and nod thing because it makes me feel like I’m being rude.

Sometimes it’s totally obvious what the person is saying but my brain won’t work it out because of the pressure of the situation.

Fookin nightmare! My Mum’s husband is VERY Welsh. I dread him answering the phone! [emoji23]

I hear ya. I once directed a project where most of the participants were from Australia or Mississippi. What a circus considering both groups spoke the same language. I had to sit in on every meeting to at as interpreter. Always thought that I was pretty good at understanding broken English and thick accents..........then I went to Scottland.

I still haven’t shit any frogs tho..

:crying::crying::crying:

I feel your pain, and sympathise with anyone with hearing loss. I'm better in person than I am over the phone with accents, because I have a chance of lip reading and understanding body language. But I don't find it easy!

We have a Jamaican engineer at work. I panic when his number comes up on my phone! [emoji23]

Been busy re-tasking the cab to grow some cherry tomatoes. I did 4 rooters, each with 4 seeds. 2 days later I had 3 roots with 4 plants and one with 3 plants. 2 of the rooters are in the hydro setup in the cab. The other 2 are in 3 gal airpots on the back porch. Thought it would be an interesting comparison. Both groups are doing good but the hydro is a bit bigger and more advanced. The roots have just reached the res so they should really take off soon. This is supposed to be the wife's project so not sure why I'm doing it. Hoping she will take it over at some point.

Also trying to get some girls germing for the Wilma. 4 rooters but only one sprouted. Potted each of the rooters just in case. Also added another rooter with bean to each of the no-show pots. 3 days later nada, but it looks like both of the rooters in one of the pots are trying to pop. Will relocate one if they both pop. Also have 2 more rooters going for backup. Hoping to have a girl in every pot soon. So far, the only thing above ground is a DinaFem Chees Auto. Will be starting a new journal once everything starts to roll.
