Drying Question

Your buddy in Colorado has the opposite humidity issue.

I have friends in Colorado that have humidifiers in their drying area, they do everything they can to slow it down.

Oh I see. Is that why they leave everything on? To slow the drying down?

Yes. That is the reason they leave EVERYTHING on the plant when they dry.. The more plant material, the slower the dry time. Some people remove just the big fan leaves.. Some don't take anything off. In humid areas, people remove the buds from the stems and most of the leaves to speed up the dry time. But none of that matters when your temps are out of range... You will definitely want to read up on wet trim vs. dry trim, hang dry vs. brown bag dry, and form your own opinion on which will work best for you and your environment.

More than likely. If my humidity is low I'll leave them as whole as I can. I shoot for 6 days drying. 6/60*/60% usually has it close to jarrable. 10% less can take a day off, but a slow dry helps release the chlorophyll getting rid of the hay smell and taste.

Hello dude, this may be exactly NOT what to do idk lol, because I have never had your humidity problem.....but if you are going to brown bag it, could you add something super dry into the bag too?......to try and soak up the moisture?.....like some kitchen tissue placed lightly on top to catch any moisture that evaporates.....this may be the totally wrong thing to do, and if it is......I hope somebody says so lol.....hope you get sorted dude.

I recently had a harvest that went through some heat, then dried during some high humidity...took twice as long...
That harvest lost all smell and I lost a couple of thick colas to mold but the smoke was good.
This summer has been a biotch for growing.

I've been using the "Herbs Now" cannabis dryer for almost a year now. Im super happy with it and it's results. I was part of their test team on IG. I will be doing a full review of it on here with my next harvest at the end of October. I know it will help a lot of home growers who are in areas where prime drying temps are hard to achieve/maintain.

Thank you all for the responses. The temp will drop drastically after today. This is greak weather we are having. Yesterday was the hottest day in October ever recorded in my state.

My buddy who grows for a living out in CO said never to cut the buds off the stem, and never trim until fully dried. Not sure why, but I may need to break that rule as I dont want my stuff to mold.

So cut the buds off the stem, trim it up, and put it in paper grocery bags for a few days?
Yes, but it would be better to do all that and move it into somewhere cooler and lower humidity, also.

I wish I could move it inside but that is not an option. I went ahead and cut buds from some of the branches, but it was super late so I stopped. Will try to finish up tonight. There are so many!!!
