Harvest & Curing Drying and Curing

Aloha AKNL, how's life? What is the brand / manufaturer of those jar lids? They look awesome!
Hey man life is good lots of good smoke :)
I bought the lids off ebay I think people just make and sell them there, I think I paid like $10 us each.

as soon as the meters come in I will be building these.
And looks like you might have a customer right above you :) good luck when I need more I will look you up.

Yeah, I'll be another customer :)

My instincts was to do it a couple of days ago. I have read what you have said and i couldn't figure out the differences between Dry then jar then check and then drying them some more then jarr again. So I went with the... 1 day per 10 Rh. then add a day. So i went 6 days and also the stems would not even come close to snapping.

Even after reading Eyes post like 10 times it still didn't register.

The important thing is I learned. And i just got done chopping my second lady lets see If I do understand:pass:

Thanks Chester

I did the exact same thing. Even though I only dried for 5 days...they were over dried. Stems didn't snap but I jarred them anyway. Of course I did the daily burping for week...which probably made it worse. My buds are def potent, but the smell and taste fucking sucks right now. Hopefully it will improve. I'm just going to leave them jarred for as long as possible without opening them. There's sooooo much conflicting info regarding drying and curing.

W/ or w/o hygrometer lids I think a person needs a good hygrometer that fits in the jars and can be used outside too ... I recommend a Western Caliber IV ... I just bought one on Ebay for $24 delivered ... I like to know the RH in the room where I'm drying as well as in the jars afterward ... the old timers can do it w/o the right equipment but I can't and new growers shouldn't try ... if you understand rh and have at least one reliable hygrometer you'll be drying like a pro in no time ... How much is a properly cured harvest worth to you ...

I have two hygrometers and they never match up they are always 2 off. So anyway my boveda 62 packs came in the mail yesterday and i plopped them in my jars. I Have two jars right now one is full my easy ryder that was reading 53 Rh now shows 61 Rh my other two jars are only a quarter full of trimmings and popcorn bud from the easy Ryder it reads 55 Rh. So i took out both of the meters and placed them in a jar with 5 B62s they should both read 62 Rh right??? And if not i should be able to take into account the difference.

As a side note I'm afraid I hijacked Eyes thread. I am sorry dude.:pass:

Sounds right to me ... but the fact that the rh in the jar is in the mid 60's doesn't mean that the bud is instantly mid 60's ... but being in the jar can help to rehydrate it ... it's a great idea to check your hygrometers ... w/in 2% of each other is pretty good as long as they are close to the bovedas ... I have Western caliber Hygrometers ... 3 are w/in 2% of each other and the 4th I need to add 4% to reach the average of the others ...

It can really help keep a close eye on RH if you use these lids.

I can put buds in a jar and put on the lid , check back in a half hour and see if its close enough to stay in the jar with the lid on or off, or needs to be taken back out and put back in the bag.

made same jars love them ....
is 66 to high rh to jar and put with 62 bovedo dont wanna lose smell again due to drying out too much first harvest any help??/

At 66% I would continue to burp frequently ... if you have a hygrometer so that you know the rh of the space where you are burping your jars you know how long to leave the jar open ... if it's 55% or above up to 70% you can leave the jars open 1/2 hr at a time a couple times a day ... if it's below 55% better to do 5-10 min at a time ... I generally don't put a Boveda in until I'm real close to 60 or 62% but you can use a 62% Boveda in a jar w/ 66% weed in it ... if it's a big enough Boveda it will help to slowly bring the rh of the bud down ...
