It was the bomb! The merlot worked perfectly with the herbs and spices, and that chicken was tender. Hey @the green bandit I remember you saying you didn't like plucking birds, but this one is worth it! And after about a bottle and a half to myself I actually woke up at about 4:20 like normal and I feel great, not a touch of hangover. Not enough can be said about drinking plenty of water, not mixing sugary things with alcohol because it's like an accelerant to your bodies demise, and feed yourself home cooked love with some ethnic flair as much as possible because learning new things coupled with something you already love is pretty kick ass. :smoking:

Does anyone have a Moroccan recipe for me to try? I don't have a tagine, but do have a clay pot that I use in it's place. I have made a lot of chicken thighs in it over potatoes, carrots, onions, tiny bit of water, S & P, sprinkle all with a tiny cayenne and plenty of paprika of choice until it smells insane. My kids won't eat that much spice though, and I like more complexity, gives me an excuse to buy spices!

That sounds delicious, but the rancid butter and candied lemons will be tough to acquire. I guess I might have to do Moroccan after I can make it to the big city for spices. Back to the drawing board! :smoking:

dunno about but

So when my blood sugar has been in good control I occasionally eat some bad stuff. Today was one of those days.

Nice dude. Nothing like fresh fried cakes...our hometown old-timey, single location grocery store's bakery makes insane donuts. People come from 30 miles away to get doughnuts from this place. I also score all my French bread from there too...mostly for French Bread Pizzas, my signature steak bomber sammies...that will absolutely ruin people, or any other sammich that has a potential for getting soggy.. GOTTA match the bread right for the bestest sammich experience possible. I even go so far with the steak bombers as to grill the bottom to create a crust that doesn't sog out...then I will bake the bottoms by themselves for 5 mins before adding the shaved steak mixture with cheese. Put that in for 5 more mins, put the top on and back in one last time for 3-5 mins. You get a little crunch off the bottom and the top half is eggshell crust and warm, and the cheese melts. The things it takes to make THE best sammich ever...lol.

Their version is called Sour Cream Fried Cakes and they come plain, dusted in confection sugar, and glazed. Just a beautiful texture..the plain ones are my favorite, not overly sweet. I do believe those are the OG Dunkin Donuts from the 80s or earlier....the donut that started everything.

Gotta do that funeral thing for my boy Saturday. I saw his obituary today from the paper...it was...thick. Busy ass weekend, my daughter and her little family is coming, got a crazy birthday dinner happening on Sunday. Already getting excited.

I'm about done struggling with a 4x4 tent and in the next month or two I am going BALLS TO THE WALL with a brand new straight up Hollywood style grow room completely hidden behind the wall. I should have enough room to do 20-30 plants and walk around, with a dedicated 100a sub panel with breakers, a dual 8" filtered exhaust and intake, and fully automatic environmental control. Yeah. It's like that. All lit with Mars Hydro 300s....lol. Just kidding....this bitch is gonna have like 20 Citizen 1825s on ratchet straps. KAAAHBS BABY. And gonna DEFINITELY try my hand at some deep water insanity. My boy would be so proud. Life defining moment instead of just dwelling on the bullshit. I actually am employing my very own Nurse Bubbles Jr to give me a hand...her 23 year old little sister that is my little rock. She has worked for me for 10 years already cutting trees, and she hasn't missed ONE day. That's a fucking rare thing these days. Ohh. Fuck. Yeah.

Making pork verde tonight, even roasted peppers, garlic, onion, the whole shebang... Used ground pork instead of pork shoulder to expedite the process. Looks like babies first poo but man does the house smell amazing. Don't forget some wine, good music, and always smoking the ganja :smoking:
