Dutch Passion DP Ultimates first

Put a pinch of Epsom in your feed next time it’s near-impossible to use too much of it. If they’re taking ages to dry out then give them less water. I’d only give roughly 150ml (or maybe even less) for a plant that size maybe every day or every other day. They don’t need much when they’re small you can increase it as they get bigger. You could cause all kinds of weird symptoms just by overwatering.
They look ok to be fair, sometimes they can start off looking a bit rough but they’ll grow out of it 9/10 times.
Good luck!
Also, PH to 6.3 it’ll allow a small margin for error and should keep things in the correct range should your PH pen be out slightly.

I meant Epsom, not calmag! [HASHTAG]#edited[/HASHTAG] ^^^^^

Id reckon your ph is a bit low for a soil grow. I usually give plain water @7ph and my runoff comes out @6.5.
Have you been testing your runoff?

Ive found since going organic I need to worry less about the ph because the microbes in the soil help regulate it.

Hello guys. First of all its nice of you helping out a rookie fellow grower. I want to point out that i did added 5 tbsp of epsoma garden lime in the soil along with perlite. I read from A-train that lime helps ph to be stable around 7 and so with 6-6.2 feeds ph will slowly get back to 7 and help roots gain access to nutes in soil. I dont know what to do next. My plan is to feed them a tiny dose of epsom salt plus 1ml of calmag disolved in 1 litre of water for all 4 of them. Should i just do this with epsom and calmag? Or should i give them base nutes plus voodoo, piranha and b52 plus epsom and calmag?

Slow down mate, ya dont wanna try fix an issue that ya havent identified yet.

As far as I know, biobizz light mix should provide everything they need for the first weeks and is within the 6.2-6.8 ph range. Your lime will raise/regulate that, but overtime rather than immediately. It could be that it hasnt broken down yet, dry additives are often slow release.

I dont have any experience with your nutrients, are they organic or synthetic?

Also I agree 30lt pots are a bit big for autos, especially young uns. 10-20lt is plenty for most, unless you get an XXL strain.

So im leaning towards it being a ph issue, what id do is;
Transplant em into smaller pots, give em plain bubbled water without any ph down (preferably a ph of 7 because its neutral)
And test the run off.
This will give a gauge of the ph of your soil. So you can confirm or ruleout ph issues without the risk of adverse effects.

Im gonna tag the local ganja doctor @Waira and see if he can help you out.

I watered them 3 times until now with ph 6.0-6.1. I still didnt try 6.3-6.4 or even 6.5. Maybe this can solve the mystery.
I could do what you saying if anything else fail, but first i want to try some epsom salt before doing that. I cant understand tho why they cant grow in big pots. If you plant them out in an open field with soil theu will still be in a 'big pot'. I hope you understand my thinking.

Is 6.1 your ph going in or your runoff? (The excess water that comes out the bottom?) Y'all need to test the runoff to assess whats going on in your root zone.

Ive done exactly what your suggesting, I gave some epsom salts and a good feed. Saw no improvement, got some ph down into the next feed (I was in coco at the time) and a week later all the nutes that had built up due to the lockout became readily available, and helped along with the epsom salts scorched my plant.

Autos dont need a lot of nutrients to do well, I usually give 1/2 doses and have no deficiencies.

As for pot size, I just learned from experience. Id use bigger pots but come harvest id check the roots and they wont have filled out the pot

I havent watered with a run off. I just watered with 6.0 until now. So next feed will be 6.3 or 6.4. My friend it makes sense what you say that maybe there is a lockout. But i added garden lime in my soil which makes the ph neutral 7. Like this even with ph 6 that i watered, it should raise up to 7 slowly and unlock the nutrients. Im so disappointed right now.

Okay, when you next water (@6.4) use enough so that you can collect and test the runoff. If the ph is lower than 6.4 your soil is acidic and your lime isnt having as big an impact as you may think. And you prob have a lockout issue.

If its higher than 6.4 but lower than 7, your in the right range and can be confident that its not a lockout issue.

If its higher than 7 your lime is working too well and may be the cause of your lockout.

This has to happen with plain watter? No epsom salts or calmag inside water? Which way is better to be done? Just plain water?
