just out of interest, what lights do you guys use for your seedlings? seen a lot of people using t5s for the first couple weeks. would this be better start in life than my mars? gonna get a propegator for next round so just want a wee light for when theyre in there.

I dont have any choice....ive done all of mine in water till they sprout and then straight into the pot they grow in,then again im in soil and perlite, then they are straight under the dual spectrum 600 hps although i do keep it high up,im about 4.5 ft away from them and it seems to work ok day 25

One of my ballasts is dimmable to 250w i use it at around 2 foot away

I just got a small T5 that fits the propagator. Im a bit confused with it as it said T5-LED on the box. but for the time they spend in there it should be enough

Same here, I've got a dimable ballast on mine, dims from 600 to 300 in 100 increments. I up it every couple of weeks.

Wish mine was dimmable sometimes its a pain keeping the humidity up and cooling the cupboard.....arggghh

yeah thats the sort of thing i was thinking about. just a wee one to break them in gently that i can just leave in my bedroom. be able to cut a week or so off the grow time if i can get them rooted while this is finishing up.

well thank fek for that. 3 days on the bounce the girls have looked happier and healthier every time ive checked. feeling pretty damn good about myself right now. thanks for all the help guys. the lights were too close, the pump was too high. nutes were too low. and the turn also happened the day i introduced sm-90 to the mix.. lights now set to 28/29", ive taken the heater out the res. raised and redirected my fan to not blow directly on them. now feeding them
a+b - 1.5ml p/L each
hydro veg boost - 0.25ml p/L
root boost - 0.5ml p/L
calmag - 0.5ml p/L
sm-90 - 0.5ml p/L
all comes to 1250ppm wich drops about 55 per day. many will say this is too high but its working so im sticking with it. the pump is now on only a dribble aswell.
they get 10 litres on the thursday
5 on friday and 5 on sunday at ph 5.5 now raising by 0.1 per day instead of 0.2. so if that keeps up ill raise my starting ph slightly this thursday. i try keep them 5.7 - 6.1 wich other than a few hiccups seems to work well doing it this way and avoids the risk of me dropping too much acid in the res. feels so good to see them happy at last. started training today aswell. just taping the string to the side of the res. built a frame for the top of it but not gonna use it. THAAAAANK FUUUUCK!!!! time for a cuppa tea
