New Grower Doogal's first auto attemp

...It doesn't exactly answer my question whether adjusting pH will do any harm, but it will have to do for now...
Yes, theoretically and what an AN help line tech confirmed to me: adjusting the pH is counter-productive, bad, simply no reason, not in the instructions, etc. Adjusting pH just involves adding more salts/ions, and can only harm the pH Perfect chemistry and nutrients uptake. The pH of what you mix does not matter (as long as your water is not above a certain salts/ppm/EC level). I have not even checked pH at all for years, I see no deficiencies or excesses (what more can you ask for?), and I'm using tap water with ppm/EC above what AN recommended.

One thing I do to minimize addition of unauthorized (not in base nutes schedule) salts/ions to pH Perfect (such as cal-mag) is to feed these nutes foliarly (using Transport/Optic Foliar) for as long into bloom as I can. I feed Si foliarly too.

Brilliant @BII thanks for clearing that up. I haven't done any pH adjustments since the first time, like you said, there is no need to with these nutrients.
I was also temped to use AN calmag as a folliar feed, however with pretty much all my plants now starting to create flowers, I didn't want to damage or adversely affect the upcoming buds as I would imagine that direct moisture onto them can't be all that healthy in the long run.

Although there is 'no need' to adjust or check pH, since you are just starting this, it would be prudent to at least for a short while ocassionally, or randomly, check your source water and pH after mixing, just to make sure it is not totally out of usable range for some strange reason. And similarly although it has many shortcomings, it couldn't hurt to check the pH of run-off to also make sure that is not totally out of range.

Evening all
I was just having a smoke and doing some leaf tucking when I came across what kind of looked like some seed 'sacks' on a couple of stems, though I think I'm just paranoid and they are flowering sites and I've been a complete tool and removed a few :jointman: What do you think?

IMG_0907.JPG IMG_0908.JPG IMG_0918.JPG

Its off the Chem Bubbly plant.
So I thought I might as well take some photos of the rest too.
I started to add Green Planet Nutrients Liquid W-8 to the schedule over the weekend.
There has also been a lot vertical growth recently too, so I took some measurements.
Lights have been raised slightly.
Day 32

Chem Bubbly 1:
Lets hope she's not a hermie cos she is doing really well.
32cm tall

Pineapple Express 1:
Doing great. I haven't seen much new growth on her really, but she's got a lot taller since the last update and the bud sites have become much bigger.
34cm

Blue Dream:
Gave a few of her side branches LST but left main stem alone.
29cm
IMG_0921.JPG IMG_0922.JPG

Chem City Blues:
Got some LST this week as she was getting really bushy and needed light penetration, and a couple days later she started growing like crazy.
27cm
IMG_0924.JPG IMG_0926.JPG

Summer Berry Kush:
I don't know how this plant is still alive. I've totally abused it and removed a tonne of leaves from it and its still happy to put out lots of new growth. She is smaller than the rest though.
23cm
IMG_0927.JPG IMG_0928.JPG

Chem Bubbly 2:
Still putting out 3 leaves :dancer:
I've been removing lots of leaves off her too. She is kinda taking the shape I wanted, but keeping both ends pinned down is becoming harder, she's fighting back.

Alaskan Thunderfuck:
Doing awesome. Haven't done anything but leaf removal and tucking to her, she's the tallest. Smells lovely, leaves are thick and waxy and just take random shapes and stay that way. Its a very groovy plant. I can see how she would survive in Alaska lol
48cm

Stress Killer 1:
Both stress killers are still doing awesome, growing well, drinking well, looking good. Well happy with these plants and was tempted to put them up in the RQS section sometime in the future as I don't think there are any photos of anyone growing her before. Could be mistaken though.
33cm

Stress Killer 2:
Much taller than her sister, but I think when the other one catches up she'll produce more. We'll just have to wait and see. Exciting times.

Stay high peeps.

Great stuff!
Just when I'm happy about my own stuff, I have to go and look at another journal and get jealous :D

Hey, thanks mate.
Unfortunately not all was as rosy as it looked.
I had a pineapple express plant that stunted around day 16-18 and started flowering well early. I thought I would leave it and see what happened but it turned out to be a hermie and infected my Chem Bubbly plant also.
I've just put up a load of pictures on the infirmary of most of the plants and thankfully the rest are unscathed (so far) but I had to kill off 2 plants.
Its a shame as I was really happy with the way that chem bubbly was going and was looking forward to getting something nice from her.
I still have 1 Chem Bubbly left, but its the experimental one that I have lying flat across the soil that puts out 3 leaves. Hopefully she will produce but she is miles behind everyone else.
I'll be keeping a really close eye on them all over the next couple of weeks obviously

All caught up, good job geezer.
I've been spying the geneseeds website, they have some stunning looking autos.
The Thunderfuck and GSC look shwweeet
I might place an order

Thanks @Ribbzzy
I would certainly recommend both. A friend of mine grew them last year, along with their Cherry Pie and all three were fantastic genetics. My Alaskan Thunderfuck has been a dream to grow so far, I've had to do very little to it other than water it.Good luck with it mate.

Just thought I would throw up an update too.

Current Nutrients : Remo Velokelp, GP Liquid w-8, GP Massive, AN Calmag, AN Sensi Bloom.

The girls have really started drinking everything in those 13.5L pots. I'm having to water pretty much every day now. Most of them are getting around 1L per day, nutes on alternative days, ph plain water on the other days.

Pineapple Express:
Hasn't grown vertically, but is packing on the weight on those colas. Starting to smell like rotten pineapples and mud. Love the shape of those colas, kinda look like mountain tops in the mist.

IMG_1072.JPG IMG_1096.JPG IMG_1095.JPG

Stress Killer [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]:
Getting bigger every day and still putting out new growth. I'm hoping that she might get to be a big girl.
IMG_1085.JPG IMG_1087.JPG

Stress Killer [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]:
Just packing on the weight on those buds, hasn't really grown vertically much in the last week, similar to the pineapple express. She has started to get very frosty and smells like a beautiful mix of lemons and peppermint. she's been getting a bit more calmag last few feeds.
IMG_1089.JPG IMG_1090.JPG IMG_1091.JPG

Chem City Blues:
Identified what I believe to be a potassium deficiency I believe. I've started to give her a bit more green planet massive to try and fix it, will have to wait and see. Has a very fresh cut grass and petrol kinda smell coming off her.
IMG_1073.JPG IMG_1094.JPG

Summer Berry Kush:
She started filling out and flowering in a very short space of time, pretty impressed considering I've hacked this plant to bits and removed so many leaves from her, she just puts them back out within a couple of days though.
IMG_1076.JPG

Blue Dream:
Last week I was thinking that she is not an auto. She is getting so stupidly bushy and has constant new growth. I would expect some kind of flowering by day 43 for an auto. I think I can see the start of flowering on her, but not really sure what is going on.
IMG_1078.JPG

Alaskan Thunderfuck:
Doing amazingly well. Not had a single bit of bother from this plant and she always seems happy growing. I think she is gonna have one hell of a fat main cola. Love this strain.
IMG_1079.JPG IMG_1084.JPG

Chem Bubbly:
This is a great little experiment. She has started to do what I was aiming for, just not sure if she will be able to hold all the weight of the buds once they start getting big. Have had her very close to the oscillating fan hoping that will help build some strong stems and arms.

Thanks for reading folks, happy growing all :)
