Grow Mediums Does anyone use soil in their AutoPots?

That’s why I chose super soil! Low maintenance. All the nutrients are in the soil. It’s easy. Just mix soil and super soil together in the bottom third of the pot and then the rest with just soil. All that’s required is plain water to grow. Biotabs work the same way but you just put a tab in the soil.

As far as forums, I did find some old posts about using soil in Autopots I think, maybe in the biotabs section. It’s basically the same process as any other medium in Autopots. Just make sure you have good drainage in the soil - perlite. Biotabs has specific instructions for using their product in soil in Autopots.

I messaged the super soil people and they said they’d had plenty of Autoflower growers who’ve used their amendment successfully but they do make another amendment specifically for Autoflowers. They said the Autoflower amendment is quicker release but both amendments will work for autos. I bought the regular because it’s available in a larger amount for less money.

I went to amazon and found the autoflower super soil .....I used "kind soil" once and I assume it is almost the same thing
. :thanks:

No! The concept of "drainage material" is a myth. The laws of hydraulics tells you that the interface between dissimilar materials will resist the flow of water until gravity over comes it. Drawing from the bottom through dissimilar materials makes wicking more difficult. I've not used anything since my second grow and have never had a problem from it in over three year.

Thank you for all the info hon. super soil or the Mephisto amendment was the way I was thinking for next time. Do you put any stones or clay balls in the bottom of your pot when using soil?....

Thank you hon! Yes, I am having a little issue with all the nutes in coco, and would love to just do a "nute free water only" grow next time. When using soil do you recommend putting clay balls in the bottom of the pot?....
Nope, clay.balls is another I stopped because of folks around here.

I’ve never built a super soil but many others around here have. I have used BioTabs on a couple grows. It is a great kit for people like me that know squat about growing organically and want to just use water in the reservoir. Only issue I seen so far is getting it here in the US, but that may be a mute point now as It has been a while since I ordered any.

AWESOME. I am currently using coco with nothing in the pot, but I didnt know if soil was different :)

I was going to check into the bio tabs as they seem to be very popular....but I think my next grow I just want to soil....and water :)

Here's my best indoor organic plant. A dutch Passion Auto ultimate, grown in a 15 gallon tote of my KISS mix organic soil, given only water the entire grow, no supplements, no teas. Even chopped early due to spidermites, i took 312 grams dry from her.

Keep ur finger out of the picture, will ya! :crying:

Beautiful looking plant. I love the idea of growing organic but do you think, that given a blind taste test anyone could really tell the difference between properly grown and cured bud with chemical nutes versus organics? People say they can but I think that’s very subjective.

Basically it is just soil and water. It’s just an easier way to setup your living soil and all in one box with simple instructions. Once you setup your soil, put the plant into the pot, and just like any good supersoil you just water. Here is their video for setup with the Autopots. Do yourself a favor and turn down the sound.

Biotabs and autopots are the best growing decision I've taken.
My brain doesn't deal well with multiple feed cycles etc and because grow perpetual autos I can have many plants at differnt stages.
Honestly can't see me changing from either any time soon
