New Grower Does anyone know about LEC lighting?

The heat from this unit is low. I run it in a room that is averaging 72 degrees and it is typically ten degrees warmer inside the tent with a 6" duct fan on high.

I don't know what the max size would be but it flowered like a champ in a 36 X 20 tent. This run I've got 5 pkants in a 3x3 so it will test it harder.

@Anthropolis thanks for chiming in your opinion is always welcome in my threads. I am seriously thinking about getting 2 630's or 4 315's I haven't decided but from everything I have read these things are the bees knees.

I see some crazy claims here. Please don't put a single 315cmh in a 5'x5'. Even if it made 100% light(and it doesn't) that would barely be enough to flower under lol.

315cmh is not new, and it is proven tech, but expect the performance of a 400w hps, not 600w or more. Most people going with cmh do it for the claims of higher quality bud.(fuller spectrum) DE hps would be better if you're lighting 5'x5's, or if you want the HID performance and cutting watts at the wall, take a look at high efficiency cob lighting.

I am good with it as I am really only going to be using these as supplemental lighting to the natural sun as they are going to be in a greenhouse.

Excellent reviews on them. We have a local grower using the commercial units on photos. 1 light per plant and yielding over 1lb per plant. I'm rocking 1 with the 3500k bulb for flower and the 4200k bulb in veg. I think the max I'd stretch it in veg is 4x4 and flower 3x3. The technology is not new but newer to most growers around here. At just over 1000btu of heat it's a winner in my eyes.

This is the first I've heard of this lol, had to google! That LEC 315 looks great, a little pricey, but just using 315 watts is very attractive. I just bought a new Mars led and I think it's real draw is about 315 and is claimed to be for a 2x4' area. That LEC 315 didn't clearly annotate its' coverage area, but the Q&A section mentions 4x4 with 5x5 being a max maybe.

That's a big difference, if 315 watts of LED covers 8 sq ft and 315 watts of LEC covers 16 or 25 sq ft. Now I'm dying to see a side by side yield result! If everything holds water, that would be a very good investment of the $500 purchase price.
Locally the phantom by hydrofarm runs $350 with the remote ballast. The sunsystem is sharp looking but also cost a lot more and an enclosed ballast. Without fans I feel it traps the heat more and could eventually hurt the ballast a little. They both use the same Phillips bulb regardless of manufacturer

Thanks @BigSm0 I have settled on them I am going to get 4 315's because they hang vertically and apparently the footprint is better than the horizontally hung 630's I really do think that this is going to be some epic shit. I think the LEC's are perfect for what I am going to do, 1260 LEC watts for 12ish hours a day and The 8000 foot high natural sun for the other 12ish hours a day I think I am going to grow the biggest Autoflowering Cannabis plants ever

You saw what they've done for me.

That was this morning. One cola toppled since then. They're in the harvest window but Can go longer. Thing is they're collapsing under their own weight and they're really sturdy indica branches.

Fuckkk yeah dude I am serious I will look at these buds more than any other in the coming weeks I promise. Yours is the grow I have been most interested in because NO one else is using CMH, @BigSm0 uses them but I had to find that out from a different forum he was usin em lol. What do you think of these @BigSm0? Oh and @gardenhackle I can really see the frost in the second picture. I am the last person that can say anything about getting better pics, but can you take some really close up frosty ones lol(I am totally kidding that second one is perfect) I mean if you wanted to take some more I will drool over them lol.

Oh, I'll take more. Tomorrow: :). If you want, I can show you the time-lapse of this grow. :). 63 days. Faster than many photos can even finish.
