I have used this method myself in the past. I works just fine.

Exactly what I now do, except I hang my branches in the box (free appliance box from local retail shop with wires to hang branches from), and I include a thermo-hygrometer in the box to monitor RH and temps, a computer fan to move air around in the drying box, and an adjustable baffle in the connection to the grow tent to adjust temps and RH in the drying box. Works a treat, and is now my go to process after trying most of them.

Happy drying and curing peeps. :pighug:

So how do yo7 power the case fans? I build computers and have some extras, but not sure how you can hook a case fan into a wall socket.

Appreciate your help.

With a 12 volt trickle charger. My larger "smart" charger won't drive fans unless I put an actual car battery in parallel. Next grow, I think I will put one computer fan low in each corner to move air in the canopy. I find them handy, nice gentle air movement, and the tiny size works well in my 2x4 and 2x2. Shoot me any other questions, and I will try to help. :pighug: :goodluck:

My buds are still drying. Been about a week now, and around a day or two left before they dry I reckon.

So the good thing is, with a pc fan, they do dry out nice and slow.

However, I will update when it’s dry and what the smel is like compared to the paper bag method.

If it works out better, I am going to build a big one. Pimp that shit out and control the environment how I want it.

Just Curious,
the "Project" muffin fan I'm using is 22 CFM @ 3200 RPM
Buds seem to have dryed 2 days earlier then using no fan at all !

My question is doe's anyone Know if The CFM and RPM are the same on a standard computer fan ?

This is the fan I'm using DIY PROJECT MUFFIN FAN

Gonna try fan as extractor on the next dry for sure, see if I notice a difference !
Ok made some adjustments for my second dry, put the fan up top extracting the air out this flow is so much more gentle inside the box, then having the muffin fan blowing in down low ! added carbon filter down low up front on the intake and up top inside below the fan extracting the air out this will be a much slower drying process for sure, also added a filter under the original handle on top that's kept open when the fan is not on, lets see what happens already liking this set up better then the having the fan blowing in, be back in about 10 days with dry weight and smell comparison !

That is similar to what I do.

After several different methods from paper bags to a dehydrator with no heat, I settled on using a small grow tent with a 4 inch inline fan exhausting out. This work great in my humid environment.

I found that blowing in dried too fast and lost some small amount of smell and flavr. Exhausting out instead seems just right!!!!
