In Between Update
I know I usually run my updates every five days, but I had a day-long doctors appointment and just wasn't up for it the other night. There are certainly more photos to come!
At this point I'm just giving it Grand Finale and Bloom Final... watchin' the leaves die. I'm impressed as usual with the Grand Finale and Bloom Final and how much growth I still get while using them. One thing about the ten day gap in updates is it will result in some good comparative photos. I had just started the Finale Feeding the last update and by the next update (night after tomorrow) the difference should be noticeable. This particular plant I have "trained" I guess more than any other. It's not like I'm doing LST but I've just tried to keep the buds in tight, pointing up, and keep the plant sort of uniform under the LED. In fact, if I could think of one complaint about the XGS-190 is that I'd prefer it to be square rather than rectangular. But, with the way I'm constantly rotating the plant I'm not sure it matters much.
The UV-B is going well. In the NLxBB grow I felt like there were a couple places getting over-exposed due to proximity to the Arcadia UV-B bulb. Well, this AutoUltimate is more compact and I feel like 6+ inches is the way to go. Anything closer and it looked to me like the sugar leaves were taking damage. Although, the two outermost buds from the NLxBB seem to be fine.
Still liking the CTP+...It's holding up really well and it's a good thing because I plan on taking her as far as she'll go. One thing I did notice is that the bottom inch or so of my Smart Pot seems to be retaining water. The rest of the pot is essentially dry to slightly moist every night I go to water. I'm not sure of the cause, but it's like the roots just stopped so the water hangs there. I stepped back on the water for a couple of days to help it disperse and dry up a bit and it seems better.
Oh ha. The smell. I had someone say Cream of Mushroom Soup... To me, it has almost a milky scent. Very strange. It's oddly pleasant tho...hard to explain. I'm looking forward to the finished product big time. A couple of the top buds, and the cola of course, are looking pretty fat.
Like I said I'll post more pics the night after tomorrow. It's looking kinda ugly now anyways with all of the necrosis. The upper leaves are getting to the point where they should start dropping. Just gotta wait patiently, I always like the buds to be as mature as possible before I cut so I could be looking at another 10 days.
Goodnight guys/gals
