Greeting all! This is my first photo period grow. I thought that I would share it.
Dinafem OG Kush Feminized Photo Period Seed- I received this seed from the Dinafem representative at the Lift Cannabis Expo in Toronto in May 2016.
Lights: Numerous CFL clamp lights hanging from a 4 tube fluorescent tube fixture all in a small homemade grow cabinet. 4- 20W tubes, 6-23W CFLs, 3- 32W CFLs
Pot: 7.5 Litre, 2 Gallon, Medium: Promix Premium Potting Soil Mix (5L) with Perlite (2L) and Compost with worm castings (0.5L)
Nutes: General Hydroponics Flora Series. Generally, I will be using FloraGrow, FloraBloom and FloraMicro at 0.5 to 0.7 ml each per litre about ever 4th watering (not nutes added until after about 30 days).
Start: August 31st, 2018
Put seed in glass of warm water for 12 hours. Then planted directly in soil mix.
September 2nd, 2018: planted sprouted out of the soil today
Lights 19 on- 5 off. Seedling first under only fluorescent tubes. I will be slowly adding CFL clamps lights as the plant grows bigger.
Things went as expected until about 18 days into the grow I noticed the larger leaves were curling up like a taco or a canoe. Here are a few photos at 24 days, notice the curled up fan leaves.
I am still not 100% sure what was causing this....the wonderful world wide web suggests everything from over watering to some sort of nutrient deficiency. After pondering this situation and doing some more searching and research I went with this guy...perhaps I added too many CFL lights too early.
October 10th, 2018 39 Days: The plant is coming along great. The leaf curling issues seems to have settled out. The larger fan leaves have a few kinks in them still but new growth does not have leaf curl. Here's a pick at 39 days from seed vegging at 19 on- 5 off.
October 12th/18 Day 41 Switch to Flowering, Lights 12 Off-12 On. Plant height 29cm (11.5 inches)
October 19th/18: Day 48: noticed female preflower hairs. I have been slowly removing any large fan leaves that are shading any growth tips and I have been lightly training branches to maintain equal spacing around the plant and best light position. I'm happy that so far there are no signs of leaf yellowing or deficiency. I hope that I don't fuck this up.
