New Grower Dinafem Auto Amnesia, MarsHydro Reflector grow.

Ok. So its been 2 days since the last photo update. Figured I would put some pics up and note some observations. Amnesia #1 is still progressing well. In just the last 2 days she has made a transformation of sorts however. She has started showing more color in the stem and now all the leaves around the main cola have begun to turn color. Is Amnesia a purple strain? I did not think so. Or is this again, just my plant progressing toward end of life? I have seen this on other plants in grow journals. It has also been pretty cool here lately and my grow room has been running between 65 or 66f at night and 72 to 74f daytime. So I guess these evening temps could cause this as well, right? Other than that she seems to be doing fine. The flushing and pot squishing seem to have helped the compaction issue.

Just some observations from this mornings plant check of Amnesia #1. The pistils are accelerating their turn to brown and more change every day. The buds are swelling and are nice and sticky, just not a lot of extra trichs on the leaves. Well not as much as some of the other plants I've been looking at. ( think TaNg's purple wonder ABBK) I'm thinking 2 more weeks and a flush, but will let the plant dictate that. Then again, I may harvest before all the leaves turn yellow in order to have a fresher leaf supply as an oil base material. What are the thoughts on this? Want some bud and material for an oil for the wifes cancer.

#2 is also progressing nicely. I did not measure her height this morning, but she is looking great, nice green color, great bushy form. Her little buds are developing and I have been feeding 500ml every 12 hours to ensure she is staying fed. Again, a plant on autopilot. I'm just feeding and watching.

So, as I mentioned previously, #1 is producing trichs on the buds and closest leaves. I had also noted that pistils were starting to turn orange at a quicker rate. So tonite I get out the ole jewelers loupe and check the trichs, and I already have about 10% amber trichs. Pistils are flipping orange much quicker. I did not want this to be too narcotic on the buzz end. So I will probably flush with straight water for a few days and keep an eye on the trich progression. If they continue to go amber I will cut it at about 25%. And then I will baby #2 to the end.

Time for some more pics of Amnesia #1.


As I mentioned previously, I had noticed that my pistils were accelerating in their turn to brown/orange. I did a check of the trichs with the handy little manual jewelers loupe and was surprised to find a number of them were amber already. So I am watering with straight water and finishing this girl up. I did not want this to be a couch lock type of buzz so I do not want it to get more than 25% amber. Most of this will go to making oil for my wife. She will need to be able to work so this plant will come down sooner rather than later. These pics are from last nite and She may come down today depending what trichs look like when I check them. I will do a pre chop trim and put some pics of that up as well.

Update day. I'll primarily discuss Amnesia #1 since I went ahead and cut her today. Ah, the decision to cut. Had several reasons but to be brutally honest, I cut it because we haven't had bud for several years now. So that statement alone speaks additional volumes that I won't need to repeat. We have been out of the scene so to speak for many years now and hence our tolerance is low. We have smoked a few small buds and they just sit me down comfortably so I cut her. I'm assuming the buzz will mature quite nicely while it drys and cures.

As this has been my first official grow, I must say that I am quite pleased by the results so far. This plant has been quite easy to grow even though she started as a mutant. I have learned a thing or 3 about the General Organics nutes and will stay with them to ensure I am proficient in their application before changing. I need to finish Amnesia #2 which can now benefit from being alone under the LED and having all the side lights for herself. I am hitting #2 with full dose nutes at this point and from now on. She is still getting Grow nutes and will not get shifted to flowering nutes until upward growth is complete. #2 currently stands at 19.5" tall and should stretch a little more since I just set her 8" further from the light.

I have also decided to spring for a second LED before the next grow starts. I will be growing several of Dinafem's Sharck shock cbd photo fems. I will sprout 1 then veg for 4-6 weeks, pop 2 clones and run them 4 weeks and jam all 3 to flower at the same time. I will have to do some LST or other binding to the mother but should be able to keep all 3 plants under netting. So lots more new stuff for the next grow.

Thank God I'm going on a cruise before that one.

I'll give it a lite shake every 12hrs or so to facilitate more even drying. I will do a smoke report when it has had time to dry and cure a bit. I will do one before the cruise though. I will also update weight when it gets there.

I can attest to just how stinky she was though. By the time I finished trimming her for the bags, my entire kitchen reaked.

A 65 day sativa!!!

I was hesitant to try this since dinafem says 80 days flowering.
With 2-3 weeks of veg, I thought it would be 14 weeks give or take.

I did cut this early, she went down on day 63. Wet weight was 125g and it rests in paper bags now after a 24hr hang to begin drying. I'll give it a lite shake every 12hrs or so to facilitate more even drying. I will do a smoke report when it has had time to dry and cure a bit. I will do one before the cruise though. I will also update weight when it gets there.
