Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I got my seeds on Friday and dropped them into some bottled water I had left sitting out for a few days for about 12 hrs. Straight into a paper towel and then into a plastic bag, sat in my grow tent for 24 hrs in the dark. One of the seeds managed to crack and the taproot showed itself but the other two barely cracked. I ended up potting all 3 and now it’s just the waiting game to see if they break soil. May I have killed the seeds already though?

Put a dome over the seeded pot to keep the humidity up! I have extremely low humidity right now as well (16%:nono:). So what I do is use a small humidifier and an inkbird humidity controller to keep the tents in that VPD sweet zone!

cut a 1L pop bottle in half, poke a few holes in the bottom and place it over your seedling for some extra humidity. And yes, keep a small veg light over the potted seeds.
yeah I was gonna cut a few water bottles in half and do that! Thanks for the help man!

good luck man, and if you start a grow journal hit me up with a tag like this @JohnnyTsu

I got a small humidifier coming in the mail later on today, hopefully that does the trick as I’ve got the tent in the basement. Will probably start a grow journal once these babies break soil!

Any Amazon link for the humidifier? Does it really help? In what size space and by how much RH %?

Going to need to be a bit more patient. i find waiting for seed to show above the soil the hardest as i cannot visibly see any progress.

Soak the seeds in a glass of water for 24-48hours to soften and crack the shell. White taproots may emerge in the water. This is fine. Carefully plant them in the soil (taproot down) and then wait 2-5 days for seedlings to emerge above the soil.

Personally i don't like to use tissue paper as it can get stuck to the taproot.

I have planted seeds direct to soil and at same time started soaking other same seeds in a glass of water and in tissue paper. To be honest hardly any difference in speed whatsoever, so long as your environmental conditions are correct. Therefore, just throw the seeds directly into the soil a pinky knuckle deep and let nature do the rest. Less exposure to risk and same results.
