Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

Sure you can not ph, you can ride a motorcycle without a helmet too! Until you crash.........
You use general hydroponics ph up and down? Or what do you use to control it?

Do you adjust ph or not? If so what do you use? Is general hydroponics ph up and down safe to use or? I've read some ppl say they dont ph and others say I shud ph. New to soil and mega crop. Used to grow dwc hydro.
My water is alkaline. When I add the Mega it will bring down the ph and it works out good for me.

Yeah, some nutrient mixes need a bit of GH pH Down like the early MC 2 part mixes but flower formula pHs itself just fine. Remember the nutrients are salt based and will drop the pH regardless of anything but the reason why youre seeing different answers is that there are different set ups and sources of water. RO = prolly have to pH, good tap= probably not. you will need to evaluate based off your system and set up though.

I'm using tap water filtered through a brita filter. Better than nothing I figure. Moved and left my ro system at my old house.

Or you can add vitamine C ( yes the cheap drug store stuff).
It will neutralize the chlorine in your feed.
No need to wait it out for the chlorine to evaporate

I avoid GH products as they are a Monsanto owned company. I use Bontanicare PH down ( I got a gallon off ebay for $14 shipped a couple years ago ) I use baking soda for PH up, I find it to do better at keeping the PH stable than other products. and you only need TINY amounts, often less than an 1/8 tsp!. I've been using it for years with no negative affects.

But Vit C doesn't work with chloramine. What does work with chloramine is to add more chlorine! it breaks the bond with the ammonia, then you can evaporate off the ammonia and chlorine. You can add the Vitamin C after the ammonia evaporates, witch it does fairly quickly, a couple hours often.

The small amount of chlorine used to sanitize municipal water will dissipate on its own in a very short time and is really of no concern to us growers. It is when Ammonia is added in with the chlorine to make a more persistent sanitizer called chloramines. It is chloramines that need vitamin C treatment. In soil even chloramine is not a huge factor. In hydro you should remove it.

Chloramines Removal

You are looking for ascorbic acid - vitamin C. The store brand is usually the cheapest without other stuff added in. 50mg per gallon will treat water with 3.8 PPM of chloramines.

I'm not worried about none of that water quality. Brita filtered water all the way this grow. Lol

There is a school of thought that PH- Grow (nitric acid) should be used in veg and PH- Bloom (phosphoric acid) in flower. The reasoning is Nitric acid mixed with calcium carbonate = calcium nitrate (nitrogen) that the plants need more of in veg. Calcium carbonate mixed with phosphoric acid = calcium phosphate (phosphorus) that the plants need more of in flower.
