Devil Dog's first grow Progress

Yeah, since you have a mature plant on hand that may be considered expendable, it would be convenient to try some "edgy" techniques that you may be hesitant to try with a harvestable plant @DevilDog_0651.

I've grown plants from bag seed and ID'd the males for removal. Honestly, I've never actually dealt directly with a Hermie before - at least that I knew about. If this plant has both pollen sacs and pistils, would it make sense that it could pollinate itself? Or maybe in the process of feminization, this seed didn't "take" and ended up being a male?

Are this milky, or still clear?

I know your baby looks rather "raw" to you right now, but you'll be surprised how quickly the plant fills in now that sunlight can get into her center mass. Looks fine to me, and it is natural to believe you may have been too aggressive. If the plant responds and looks lush and vigorous, you'll know now that you are well on the safe side of manipulation.

To my eye, the trichomes look like they are in the process of turning from glassy clear to milky. Once you see some of the trichs becoming amber, you'll be ready to chop. The best place to read the trichomes is on the calyx of the bud, although looking at sugar leaves is easier - but not your most accurate evaluation. If you stick to the calyx, this is the most accurate place to evaluate. You are real close.

Ok good deal. I came home and it was really wilted, but it may have just needed some water, so i watered. I will see what it looks like today when i get home. On my other plant i am seeing some amber, but there are still some clear. One friend suggested waiting until Friday and then put it in 48 hours of dark, then chop. Another friend said to chop now. I think i will meet them in the middle and put it in 48 hours of dark starting tomorrow, and then chop.

I think you have a solid game plan going into harvest. Good luck and send a shout out if you hit a snag. Happy Harvest!!

I tried several devices to view trich's, but my favorite is a 30x/60x LED lighted lupe I bought on Amazon for $8. I always view the trich's on the calyx of the bud finding them a better reference than the trichomes on sugar leaves and pistils.

I was just thinking this today, and stated in my grow thread, that my $9 Amazon loupe is what works best for me as well.

I was surpsired today to find approximately 5% amber trichomes on two of my girls. It's my first grow, so pretty exciting. I've only been flushing for 5 days so far, but I doubt I will wait more than a couple days to harvest, now.
