First Harvest. How do they look?

I was thinking maybe 10-15% amber. Is that a good percentage? I don't know what growers usually prefer, but I would like a heavy stoned.

My tent stays at 80F day and 73F at night holding 40% RH. Is that too hot? Will I lose potency or I should be OK? I don't want to lose terpines or see the trichomes degrade. The smell is great, smells potent.

I usually shoot for 15-20% its hard to be exact but that should def be around max potency. The plants produce trichomes the entire time so youll always have a mix of clear/cloudy/amber to some extent, but i feel like i have the most cloudy by the time i hit about 15%amber

Youre perfect in those temps, id only start to worryehen it gets in the 90s and youll still be fine if its low to mid 90s, 40%rh is perfect for this stage

Day 80. Taking their time. Nuggs are sticky, dense and heavy, nice smell too. Hopefully won't lose too much bud after it dries.

Also seems the colas are so fat where they may not fit in the 1oz Terploc bags heh. Will see after the buds dry. Guess I could always cut um in half.

I was thinking about just trimming the leaves sticking out, like the sugar leaves, just so they don't stick out while drying. Then do a dry trim when they are dried then throw um in the terploc bags for curing. I have a wood moisture meter to test buds before throwing them in the terplocs.

Day 84. After talking to the breeder and showing him photos of trichs, he said chop it. So I chopped both plants today.

Total wet weight after wet trimming 444g. 15.65oz.

First plant is 231g / 8.14oz
2nd plant is 213g / 7.51oz

Drying in mesh rack in the tent. 70F / 45% RH
Tested bud moisture with meter, they are wet. Will retest bud moisture in 3 days.

Tried to roll up a joint, bud is too wet to smoke won't lite. Tasted a little like bananas and Chlorophyll. Will wait for it to dry up more and retest before curing.

When bud moisture hits between 10-12% I will throw them in terploc bags to cure for a month.

Any advice on drying/curing? Thanks again for your input.

Just wanted to add, I checked the root system, roots were nice and white, I determined there is no need for 5 gallon pots. 3 gallon for auto flowers is more than enough for indoor.

Congratulations on your success!

Expect it to a good 6-7 oz cured.

Dry and cure in darkness. A slow dry/cure is best. Many use paper bags to slow the process. I used hang my buds from a sock rack before I bought a cannatrol. I still do when its full.

The bud with pink is Banana Purple Punch. The other is Lemon Cherry Cookies or Gorilla Cookies.

Once the buds go into the terploc bags, I'm starting another grow, this time 4 plants.

I dried in a mesh rack. It took only 4 days to dry. The stems didn't snap. The outside of the bud was dry, and when i squeezed the bud, it didn't stick, it was kind of tight like a marshmallow. So I cut them off the stems and threw them in 1oz terploc bags. Got 8 bags/75% full.

I also took a few buds and put them on a paper plate. Then i twisted the bud around and got some dry, very sticky weed. Rolled up a joint and smoked it. The smoke was very smooth, no crackling or popping, it stayed lit and ash was white. Taste was good, no green flavor. What impressed me is the potency. Got cotton mouth and the "Eyes". You know, where ppl look at your eyes and can tell ur stoned. Pain in neck went away, and got the munchies in the end. It's got to be pushing 30%. The high lasts long and there is a couchlock effect. I'm surprised because there wasn't many amber trichomes when it was chopped, but it was at its peak. I'm going to cure in the terploc bags for 1 month. Will see if it makes it better.

Also have a ziplock bag full of cuttings/trim and threw it in the freezer. Is it garbage? Is it worth making gummies with it?

Don't get caught up on the actual numerical %. Standard testing has an admitted variation of 20%, and many just outright lie.

From your photos though your % is quite good, whatever the actual number is. The most important test is if it fills your purpose.

You cant make a racy sativa type plant into a couchlock stone olant. You can accentuate those traits in plants that already have them by harvesting by trichs. If your bud is couchlock, thats genetics. And if you really want get into it. Sativa vs Indica has nothing to do with the type of high. There are stony knockout sativas and there are heady uplifting indicas. The type of high is determined by terpenes. Sativa/Indica just tells you how the plant grows, indicas are generally more stout and bushy with fat leaves, sativas are bigger with more space between the nodes with skinny leaves. Thats it!

Sawa product today and ordered called HerbsNOW, looks like a food dehydrator but the guy has a few growers using it and reports are good. Claims that it is a similar concept but low temp is fixed, fan is not continuous but pulsates, pre set times for his recommendations and input from users over the last few years. He claims it is better for terpes, cannaboids and the over all potency. I want to try it so I ordered one, probably be here before I am ready but that will give me a chance to look it over.
