Defoliating

It might be partly due to the Orca Grow Film but I get regular buds down in the plant without any special defoliating or pruning. I just let them grow. Most peeps prune these out before they have a chance. This StarDawg had nice dense buds in there?

I understand that, but i had issues with mold due to the branches, leaves and popcorn buds on the "low" side. I'm thinking about cutting branches and/or the smaller bud sites on the lower branches. Last grow i had several branches that were just popcorn buds, beside the (lower 50% maybe) part of the girl that got mold. So i think i need to do something. I desinfected the tent, i have one fan for canopy and another for lower branches, i respect the VPD, and still, so much leaves and branches, and branches on branches, on the lower side of the plant that i can't control.
I just started (2 weeks give or take) the new grow. I have only two girls this time, i'll start another in a few weeks. I think i'll try to prune but i'm scared as hell to damage the girls. I'll keep looking for help on this. I'm not ready to try topping yep, but i need to control the lower part of the girls better.
Thanks

Are you talking about powdery mildew?

I didn't have a mold problem on the lower branches but I can very much relate to the branches upon branches upon branches and way to much larf. LST and cleaning up anything under the top foot of canopy helped tremendously with a good amount of defoliating.

Powdery Mildew is an environmental problem RH too high , Temp too low and not enough fresh air movement. When the temperature reaches the dewpoint dew forms on the leaves and PM is born. It also happens in a plant without good nutrition and bio-stimulants especially B-vitamins, kelp and humic acid.

I think it was a rh problem due, mainly, to the ammount of lower branches and leaves, plus, deficient airflow on that area. The rh and airflow at the top 50 cms, was all right.
I got two new oscilating fans (i only had one non oscilating before) and i changed my grow method to have less big plants in the tent at the same time. So i'm trying this and some pruning. Let's hope for the best.

Hi guys. @Mañ'O'Green @Arthur @Capt.Quirk @damien50 So, the girls are on the 4th week. Around 30 days since sprouting. Too soon to start "pruning" or something like that. I'll leave some pics.
Thanks

They look just fine to me. I don't do much LST or Defo.
Well, LST started 12 days ago, or something like that. The Fat Banana already has branches toward west, east, north and south. The Hulkberry has a slower growth, but is getting there. The fan leaves, bigger than my hand. Beautifull sight. They are starting "pre flower" and they are looking good, and getting some smell.

On top I'm a tuck before pluck kinda guy. down around the container, I'll remove anything low enough to touch soil, or get in the way of watering.
