After a break from growing, and a little detour down the at the Mushroom, I thought I'd start up a small grow again. I bounce between hydro and soil, and I chose soil this time mainly because I didn't want to set up the hydro equipment. I wanted something colorful this time, and Sweet Seeds Dark Devil was the missus favorite.
I wanted to get growing as soon as possible, so I ordered a few bagged soils to try out.
From top to bottom:
I mixed in my perlite and water. The Coast of Maine didn't need much water, while the Fox Farm was bone dry.
Equipment:
I gave my seeds and overnight soak in RO water, then into the peat pucks they went this morning. Hopefully we'll have 7 beautiful little sprouts in a couple days.
We only need 3, but I'm prepared to squeeze all 7 in if they sprout. I'll also be using MegaCrop 2 part later on in the grow, and we may stick these on a perlite wick bed.

From top to bottom:
- Coast of Maine Stonington Blend - I've read good things, wanted to give it a try. Added 10% perlite
- Fox Farm Happy Frog - I chose Happy Frog over Ocean Forest as I've read latter can be a bit hot. Added 10% perlite
- Roots Organic Lush - Also read good things, wanted to give it a try. Added 10% perlite
