We have spruce grouse in the far reaches of the north but many northern hunters avoid shooting them as the taste is far inferior than the ruffed.

Lots of them at my place in Florida, never tasted one but now I'm curious.

we have lots every year, haven't tried eating yet, word here is they good! I could stand in the yard and get them out on the tundra with the 223

Word is they are better than good...ive read they are an absolute delicacy. If we had an open hunting season for them I would be telling you how they taste.

perfect choice of weapon then...I love .223...my buddy has a Ruger mini 14 .223 and I love that gun...up to a 100 yards its a combat monster. Also does well up to around 400 yards, but closer its a beast. He told me if shit hits the fan, I get the mini.
