x3 before I get started on what child support did to me.. thank fuck that's finished with. Don't get me wrong, happy to pay fair share but I was farmed hardcore. My arse is the size of a bucket..

So our arsehat welfare system has decided to start the process of raising a debt on my arse..

They raised one last year for $1900 and basically no way of getting a fair result.

So I do a bit of research and the method they use is so flawed it's automatically going to raise a debt almost regardless of what evidence you supply.

We are talking at times, 12 full months of pay slips or bank deposit records from 5 or more years ago!

(In the worst cases) Their system thinks if you had more than one employer for the fiscal year it was all year and you recieved an average of both of those employers each fortnight (even if you were paid weekly) because that's how they pay any welfare..

So immediately any welfare payments you recieved while not working are over payments because their system has averaged your yearly income... You fkn potatoes..

And then of course you only get 28 days to dig up any and all details which are almost impossible to upload to their online system, which is the only way they will allow them to be collected. Further to that, when they do inevitably raise a debt on your arse you only have 14 days to Lodge an appeal which will then take a minimum of 3 months to resolve to the same result, a debt. All the while you get harrassed during that time to pay it back.

As I just found out that as of 1st Jan 2017 any debt can be challenged now due to their system being flawed (They dont tell you this ofcourse, infact the opposite) So I'm going to have to do this merry dance to at least try and avoid a second debt and fk them, going for my $1900 back as well.

That sort of thing tends to get sorted out quickly with me, for it's lawyer time and the person who signs their name on the paperwork WILL have to explain it to a judge.

I remember they tried that sort of stunt here once, and suddenly had to change their system as the judge was not impressed by what he saw was illegal practices.

You're on welfare so will likely be able to get a free lawyer, if you can do that then do it so he can tear holes in the arseholes and their system for this is the sort of thing lawyers love as they can make a "name" for themselves.

Edit: And if it's acknowledged the system is so flawed then it comes under the heading of "Fraud" and "Extortion". Give them the necessary paperwork WITH the message that you are looking at starting such proceedings against them, the person at the top of the chain will not be keen on the risk of spending some time in a 6x9 room with bars on the window..

Only small gaps on welfare between jobs. A lot of my work is project or agency not full time direct so it's just a few weeks here and there between gigs usually.

There be the problem, nobody stands up and challenges such fuckwittery in the courts.

This is your chance to do so, for there will be a lawyer who will happily challenge such things for free, especially as you'll already have provided them with so much information to prove that their "case" is beyond bogus and is "extortion".
