I tried ubuntu and mint and just couldn't get into them but that was a long time ago and I wasn't as savvy as I am now .

Lubuntu would probably suit you, @9bear ... It looks very similar to windows. I usually use it because my laptop is old and can't handle much anymore.

Haha was why i started getting into using it when living temporarily in Madrid and got fed up having no Internet, Kali and a Alpha wifi antenna soon solved that

The only reason I stayed with Microsoft was the bastards dragged me through all the phases up until Windows 10 . They took my money and then threw in the freebie . Cruel bastards . I guess Bill didn't need any more money . Now his old lady is giving it as fast as he can make it and he needs a tax break . My former boss at the golf course had the same problem . Got himself I nice young wife and she's giving it away as fast as he can make it . He's a major developer in the city i live in .

That's about all it's good for, Unless you're actually a pen tester... Although I was thinking about setting up a rogue AP at the bar next door, Since it's a known hangout for meth and heroin dealers... Just happen to "accidentally" leave the server unsecured and pass on the ip to a good friend of 30 years...who happens to lead the local version of the DEA....

...but I'm a firm believer in Omerta. So those thoughts stayed as thoughts. Setting up fake security cameras on my property, that are facing the bar parking lot did the trick better than f*cking around on my computer...

I've spent too much time in jail over the years to be dumb enough to fall for police bs, and got a detective fired for criminal coersion...I guess he forgot making the threat of "tell me what I want to hear, or I'll lock you up" is illegal. What's funny... After he got fired (it was his 6 or 7th complaint. Mine came with a pissed off lawyer) he got beaten up continuously... Any time he'd go to the pub downtown he'd get his ass kicked, his tires slashed, or windows in his "sexy" new H3 smashed.
He moved to Amish country over in P.A. last I heard.

Around here, even the dealers are hooked on their own shit, Due to the "gotta try it to make sure it's good" mentality. Unfortunately for them, there was an influx of dirty dope that killed a bunch of them. I'll never understand those heroin people. How can being immobile, nodding off, and then sick as shit be appealing?
Anymore I look at as "Natural selection".

Oh...on dirty cops... This area had one that went to prison for robbing a coke dealer for a key... He was just back in court for kiddie porn. That dude ain't gonna last long in the pen with all that on him.
