yes, I would avoid any coco that has anything in it, even perlite! you want a plain brick of coco, premium brand if possible! but nothing that already contains perlite or lists a single other thing added... you want to start from zero, that allows you full control of what you give to them... coco is so stable as long as your ph is on you will not have an issue. For me, I find 5.98 is like perfect ph for coco, I get the best growth, plants looks super healthy at that ph...
but I'm very anal with ph, I always feed them with exact same ph... I tried other ph ranges and determined 5.98 to be absolute best for my setup..

You guys will laugh at this....i pretend PH doesnt exist on my grows....LOL
My outdoor spot is right perfect in PH, and our artisan spring fed well is perfect water for growing herb. When i was a guerilla grower, I got to know the types of plants that the soil would be well suited for canna through trial and error. But....i really should buy a PH meter for this indoor....I checked my garden and surrounding soil in my yard with a digital meter a few years ago and they were varied between 6.2-6.5...yeah no doubt plants grow pretty good outdoors around here ;)

Is coco loco from ff just organic mixed with coco?

Should I avoid this if going for a true coco grow?
cocotec or cocogro or mother earth are all good, I have used each... I did like the cocotec the best so far, but I'll be using mother earth coco, for my next test grows, so we'll see once I open that how it is, when I run water through.. usually I can see if run clear pretty quickly I know it's clean & was washed thoroughly..

well on coco grows ph will be a priority or your plants won't fare so well... coco does need a strict ph.. for outside plants I wouldn't reccomend coco, since you'd have add lime or whatever and I don't do that, so I'd only use coco for inside grows.. leave peat for the outside,so ya not have worry about ph..

I only use peat for indoor and for getting the outdoor pants started in...all natural ground soil outdoors.
Noted...I'll make sure I have a reliable PH meter for the coco when i make the switch
